I was thinking about it other day... Why is it so boring? Its the lack of tactics? Immersion? I dont know, other games also do not have those features and they are not boring as pobs. Maybe the lack of proper terrain (the most important factor on a combat, according Sun Tzu) makes the combat too mechanic (with a huge area to hide, run jump and a changing environment you have more variables, or at least looks like it).

I don't really see how you find the pvp boring.
I understand how the PvE gets boring, its the same thing every time. But players use real tactics, some come at you with a broadside while others use smaller and more maneuverable ships. Every pvp encounter I get into is different.
I guess you can't argue opinions, but I think most people find the PvP in this game to be the most exciting part.
I have read you and your constant snipes of PoTBS, by no means a complete game yet, and I think this post lets me come to the conlusion that you are probably either 10 or an idiot.
Sun Tzu was talking about land battles, do you expect there to be mountain ranges in sea battles? That stupid are we? And FYI you can sometimes make use of islands in combat, for cover etc.
Lack of tactics? Again are you just stupid or trying to annoy people? This game has a far larger requirement for tactics than the key mashing games like WoW/SWG or other pvp games.
Boring? I find this pvp fun, you don't as you probably would dislike EVE onlines pvp system, just leave and accept that this game, and the type of MMORPG this game is will never be for you, until maybe you tire of the mind numbing bullshit and risk free games offered by other devs.
PVP is the best part of this game and much more challenging then a lot of other games. To critisize that makes you lose a lot of credibility, especially when there are so many real issues you can attack.
This game is great if you get into a good society and enjoy pvp
Domenicus had a very short stint at playing a solo Pirate into the low levels before he quit. I doubt he has ever really engaged in a port battle at all, and probably not even a full 6 on 6 PvP battle. He probably never tried to get into and out of a contested port, and never had to call on his friends in the fleet for an escort.
My experience is the opposite: in a recent port battle, our 24 ships against their 24 ships, we adopted a dual line approach. (The last battle we tried a single battle line, but that proved unwieldy.) Unfortunately, they managed to cram us into the shore of an island with the wind in our face. They used the "terrain" very well, most of us got sunk and some escaped.
We've also tried tactics that let one of us lower players be visible as bait, and when jumped, the rest of our group jumps in. The Pirates have pulled that on us also. We have specific tackling tactics, formation tactics, and more. It is a blast!
I suppose if you tried solo PvP at a low level, it could get boring. Sort of like driving a Porsche in first gear and complaining that it is too slow.
