Leveling, grinding, and high-level content...advice please

altfreak2altfreak2 Member Posts: 20

Basically, i'm curious about several mmo's, and i was wanting some advice about these games. I want to play a game which has a good leveling system (played WOW, and enjoyed the leveling system in it) and plenty of high-level content, but i also want to play a game that doesnt make you have to grind too much to get to the big stuff, like raiding for WOW. All advice is welcome, thank you.

The games that i'm interested in are:

- Dungeons and Dragons Online

- Vanguard: Saga of Heroes

- Everquest 2

- Tabula Rasa

- Pirates of the Burning Sea

Assuming you don't mind a Sci-fi theme, I'd recommend giving Star Wars Galaxies a try.  The leveling system is rather varied with a number of different ways to get your XP to level up.

Over the last 6 months, the game has had an influx of high level content and this is still on-going.  Some of this content is in the form of high end instances, some space content, crafting and Collections.  Of course, there's always PvP for those times when you need a break from the PvE side of the game ;)

Instances in SWG aren't as time consuming as they are in WoW, the majority of them can be done in under an hour.  This isn't to say that they're easy, just shorter so that anyone that plays the game can have a chance at completing them

There is a free 14 day trial available to download at www.tryswg.com if you're interested.

Everquest 2 is going to be the most polished and enjoyable out of the bunch. In my opinion.

    Tabula Rasa is lacking content.

    DDO is just...bad.

You also might want to give Lord of the Rings Online a try. If you liked WoW.

There are two kinds of people in this world. People who pick their nose.. and liars.

The sad problem that i just realised with mmo's is that i can only subscribe to them with game cards, so really i only have access to wow, ddo and lotro. there are game cards for sony online games and ncsoft games where i am, but they're just too damn expensive! i'm also not really interested in those free-to-play mmo's, like guild wars, they just don't catch my fancy.

so yeah, when i get the chance, i will try lotro one more time, along with ddo, and if those don't work for me, guess i'm just back to wow then...

EQ2 is the best outta that bunch you mentioned.

If you need to use gamecards (IE: don't have a credit card), just pickup one of those prepaid mastercard/visa cards that you can put cash onto and use just like a normal credit card.
