I just downloaded 3.5 GB big file for D&D online and then unpacked adn install it into 7.5 GB total folder size and like that wasn't enough, of course i had to download extra 250ish MB of updates. All that just to try out 10 days trial... sheesh, that's usability at work, nice job devs.
But that's just an example, coz there are loads of mmos just like it out there. It's especially annoying when installer doesn't even say how much material is gonna take to finish.
I'm really tired of developers always inventing hot water in every single mmo. I wish all mmo's would look up at Guild Wars system of updating and installing. It's so user friendly and unintrusiv. You just install the main core game and then while already playing the game it downloads ONLY FILES NEEDED TO LOAD AREAS, GFX and SOUNDS YOU ARE ABOUT TO USE, for crying out loud.
Isn't that smart and full of care for users on behlaf developers, as well useful for taking a load off own servers for unessecary downloads. Not all of us players in the world have broadband nor time to dl ginormous files.
etc.
'scuse my grammer and typing.
Played or Playing: Anarchy Online, Guild Wars, Age of Conan, Everquest II, City of Heroes, City of Villains, ArchLord, Dungeon Runners, Silkroad Online and loads of not worth mentioning F2P mmos ]

and both of those result in complaints from others players.
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
