Anyone know if they have talked about adding in a passive blocking animation, or even manual, this was the thing that put my on the fence about the game, and I havent heard anything for a while.
Its purely a look to combat that I enjoy, and It seems to me it makes things more real when you have actual blocking taking place even if its the computer doing it.
I would really like to see a passive block implimented just so we could see the tension in combat.

There is some talk around about blocking seems there is an active block mode on the ctrl key but that's not the only block system in place.
I always pointed to DDO and said 'they can do it, it has latency issues, its still better than no blocking'.
I believe it was said at GDC but this block mode you cannot attack in. Normal blockng (while fighting) you decide with the white shield markers you see in the recent fighting demos. So where you but your shield that area is more protected but nobody has said if its a block chance or damage mitigation.
My guess is it'll be down to feats but I really do not know.
I found the article in question here
The on demand block on ctrl is mentioned there but I believe the main def shielding is those white shields that will give a damage mit.
Ok the enemies blocking is those white brackets while the players are yellow - I was close though.
Weird - I could have sworn you just hold the joystick in the opposite direction from the enemy and pay close attention to an occasional Hadouken or Get Over Here!
FUNCOM - putting the FUN in disFUNctional !
Blocking will make or break this game I cna tell already.
