I was just wondering if the player horse detail is the same as it used to be because i found this picture and they made this depth better than player depth

The old horses are the same still i think. I would doubt you see any horse upgrades til they add rohan and horse combat. I have no idea though. Some of the newer horse you can get through reputation and the festival reward are better looking, but not as in depth as that screenie.
