Im looking for something new to play...
here is what i have already
Runescape-
I liked the option of being able to switch around and do anything whenever you liked. i hated the endless clicking and really bad graphics.
Guildwars-
Has good graphics, pvp was pretty good, only 20 levels, didn't play long i got bored with it
Final Fantasy XI-
I liked the ability to switch classes. i HATED the leveling, it took too long and you needed a group. also the crafting/tradeskills were little weird but i got used to it
World of Warcraft-
im general a fun game. i played this the most. graphics were good enough. lots of attacks and spells. good class choices. gets boring after awhile though...
Everquest II-
i liked the graphics. lots of races and classes. leveling was harder than wow but i can live with it. its really big. i got lost and confused a few times but its not that bad.
Lord of the rings online-
played the demo. seemed alot like wow. i didnt realy like it... not sure why...
there are a few things i want in an mmo
-PvP
-"easy" leveling(can reach max level in a month or 2)
-soloable
-not a grind fest
-plenty of thing to do when you don't want to level(crafting, houses, etc.)
-"large" population (so there is always someone around your level range, don't have to go hunting to find a party)
Comments
i just tried out RF online and Fury
but they just don't seem that good... not my type of game...
any suggestions?
I'm not sure any MMO can fully match your criteria. Here are some suggestions nonetheless:
Or just occupy your free time in some other way and wait until WAR, AoC, Aion, and all the upcoming goodies.
Give Star Wars Galaxies a try, as pretty much everything on the list you were looking for and it's a change of style (sci-fi rather then fantasy)
With that list, if you can't seem to grasp that mmo's are pretty much going to be the same thing with a different look, then i would suggest either
a. picking one mmo and sticking with it for pure enjoyment
b. giving up on mmo's completly
Being honest here, but with that list it just seems like MMO's may not be for you. And i wouldnt listen to all these people thinking AoC or WAR will be something great. This is not to say they look like fun games, but lets be real. These games look and almost play just like any other MMO. Nothin new is really being added to the table. And i dont want to hear this, AoC has new combat. You mean switching my button smashing from 1, 2 , 3, 4, to doing it in combinations with wsad or edsf. Amazingly ive never used that part of my keyboard before (stops being sarcastic). Anyways goodluck to whatever comes, but honestly if you cant get into an mmo now, there really isnt going to be a time were you do. Lastly for the haters, ive pre order AoC and will be playing WAR. Unlike what i posted, i do enjoy games, but not because they are something new, but because i just enjoy gaming.
Anyway, there are a few games out right now that are different then all other normal MMO;s the only problem is they are not funded like most of these bigger MMO companys, so for one they have lack of advertisments, and for two most of these type games are actually still in development with the game being live. Dont get me wrong I do not mean development as in game is broken, well i cannot say that for all of them, but i can say there is a small handfull of games in this category... The game play is working as intended and things are just being added, such as sounds, better graphics [extenting from animations to char customization and possibly new additions].
With that all said, I suggest you take a look at Wurm online if you want to experiance something different then just your normal MMO. Quick tip if you do check it out, in options you will have to change sound from hardware to software in order to get the sound to work.
Anyway good luck, if you do give Wurm a try keep an open mind. Wurm is good for its game play and is working on polishing as we speak.
