Need a new MMO. Former Wow player

baboon205baboon205 Member Posts: 6

I played wow for a couple of years, but I am tired of it. What MMOs out there are still going strong? I was thinking Everquest 2. How is the community on that game these days? If it is low, what games are going strong at the moment?

    Windows Vista

    AMD Turion 64x2

    2GRAM

    NVIDIA 7150M

    those are my specs.

    Games interested in:

Dungeons and Dragons-heard bad things (low community)

Everquest 2- slowly inching towards this

    Lord Of the Rings Online

Tabula Rasa- Heard of lag problems

AoC= very highly doubtful my laptop could run this game

DDO Is actually pretty fun. However, with everything instanced it can be kind of taxing to sit through. Playing the trial (if it's still available) is well worth it.

EQ2 Is also pretty fun, my problem with it is there are too many class choices. I have some serious A.D.D. when it comes to committing to a single class when there are so many to chose from

LoTRO Nice game, just not my type of mmo.

I'm personally waiting for AoC and WAR, so I guess I'll just keep sitting on my thumbs until then.

Of all they games you mentioned, I would say that EQ2 is definitely the best of the bunch but if I were you, I would hold out for any of the *could be* great games coming out this year...

    Chronicles of Spellborn

    Age of Conan

    Warhammer Online

    Aion

I really want to play AoC ar WAR. Its just that I dont believe my laptop would be able to run them.

War you will be able to play it and for AOC You shoyuld be able with lower setting but i cant really say. Anyway if you dont want to wait you can still try the 7 day trial for LOTRO,  The 10 day for D&D or the 14 day for everquest 2. For everquest if i remember you cannot leave the start up zone tough.

Try Mabinogi when it comes out in a couple days.  It's free and if you got into it you wouldn't need to pay a dime to make your character more advanced for 2.5-3.5 months.  That would hold you over till one of the mainstream titles.  Avoid EQ2 like the plague.
