Besides the fact that WoW is not a PvP focused game, your best bet for a good PvP experience in an entirely PvP centric game would most likely be Planetside or WWIIO.

WoW is NOT a PvP Game. It is a PVE game that just happens to also have some PvP. If you want PvP , as the above poster mentioned the best bet is to go to games that are PvP first and PVE second. IN addition to the above PLanetside (Sci_Fi) and WWII: online (Combat), I would also suggest DAOC (Fantasy) and Guild Wars (Fantasy). Of those 4, Guild WARS is the newest. DAOC has a significant amount of PVE content in addition to the PVP content.

    Shadowbane!

Well, when they finish this current patch and reset the servers (delete everything, start fresh).

You wont find a more pure PVP game on the market, besides EVE online (space game)

The definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

Stay away from DAOC. Game almost dead....Mythic ignoring some glaring exploits.

    I would try these:

Lineage II : Good game but it is a grind fest. p2p

Shadowbane: Outdated graphics but probably one of the best PvP games out there and it is f2p. Pretty good population.

DAoC: Grind not so bad, but because it is a rather large game world you will find PvP battles few and far inbetween.

Other than that really there just aren't any good PvP games until WAR, AoC or Darkfall (if ever released) comes out.

Archlord is ok, but a lot of problems and bugs

    Fury is in trouble.

Most of the f2p games are really micro payment games and unless you are willing to invest in your character you will find it difficult to compete.

    KASE (Killer 80.00%, Achiever 53.33%, Socializer 40.00%, Explorer 26.67%)

UO, EQ, AC, AO, Shadowbane, DAOC, Horizons, Lineage II, FFXI, PS, SWG, EQ2, WoW, City of Villans, Tabula Rasa, PoTBS, Vanguard, GW, AoC, WAR, DF1, Aion,Champions Online, DC Universe,SWToR, GW2, PS2, DFUW beta in that order I think. (And a lot of f2p games)

Pure PVP games.. usually aren't that fun.

Guildwars is boring, I couldn't get into it.

Fury looks like it would be similar.

everyone always says eve.. but nothing about collecting rocks, and flying around in a spaceship seems fun to me. (I'm not a space guy)

DaOC is another one of those "pure pvp games" where there really is not much else to do.

if your looking for a MMO with nice PVE.. but where PVP is regarded as a big part of the game..

WoW and EQ2 are the only choices.

WoW may not have been a PvP game to begin with, but it sure is now. Have you played or heard about WoW lately. Everyone is running around in pvp epics that beat out raiding gear in nearly every way. These epics also take half as long to get. PvE'ers are crying on the forums daily about how WoW has catered too much to the pvpers. I know alot of people hate what has happened to WoW with arenas. I for one love the arena system. Finally you can fight other skilled players on even ground.

I would as pretty much always suggest Guild Wars, although the game doesn't focus on neither PvP nor PvE it's main coverage of news and updates is focused on the PvP aspect. Guild Wars offers a more tactical PvP rather than the bunny jumping one you can often see in WoW. In order to enjoy the PvP in GW you will however be forced to unlock some skills, these can be bought for real money, bought from Balthazar faction (this basically means you'll have to "farm" PvP, with newb build) or unlocked through PvEing. If you would want more info regarding PvP in Guild Wars you can PM me or make a post at the forums.

They almost all have PvP servers or force PvP.  Pick any.
