I know, it isnt a mmorpg, but in my opinion, is a better game than EQ. that doesnt mean i hate EQ, im a EQ fan, but...........Diablo....crap???????? you are insane.
First off, I know I'm gonna sound like everyone else so far. But you can change your movement settings and camera view. To the person that said they like the camera view in Lineage 2 better ... all you have to do is scroll the mouse wheel out in EQ to get the same 3rd person view that you get in L2.
If you have problems looking around try maping keys on your keyboard instead of trying to use your mouse to look around. Also, you don't have to use your mouse to start attacking , you can map that to a key also. The only thing i use my mouse for is to target monsters, or straffing back and forth.
Then again, not everyone is going to like the same type of game. IMO EQ is the easiest to play. You can map just about everything to a key on your keyboard.

[ - Start on the newer servers. You will find more newer players. Xegoney comes to mind. (It's my main server.) Post a new thread asking the EQ veterans to list the most newest servers. Post also at the EQ forums on stratics.com
I hate to quibble when it doesn't matter, but Xegony is an OLD server. I have been playing on Xegony since 1999. It's one of the oldest servers. But it's where I play, so I am not bad-mouthing it by saying it is old. But it does seem to have a fair mix of levels, despite its age.
The newest servers are Morden Rasp, Stromm, and Maelin Starpyre. But I would recommend trying out several servers if you aren't happy with the first one you pick, as you will find that the community varies from server to server.

Thanks for the information. Notice I said he should ask the EQ veterans for a list of the newest servers. I've been playing on Xegony for a solid 2 years. Since 2002. A friend of mine who's been playing even longer is the one who told me Xegony is one of the newer servers. Thanks again for listing for him what the most newest EQ servers are.
LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry dude but, first off you are playing the worst char in EQ (ranger), you call other games boring?
IF you know how to play a Ranger right, it is NOT the worse character in EQ. I have a friend who is a very high level Ranger with a NICE crafted bow that shoots multiple arrows. His guild always designates him as the puller. Rangers make nice hybrid warriors the same way Paladins do. They are not uber in 1 thing and weak in others, but come closer to being more all around. Rangers can solo, as well as make nice additions to groups.
What is EQ? I've not played another mmorpg in which you hear constantly players saying... "I'm bored" - heh , yet you PAID to be bored.
Ask those players saying EQ is boring how long they have been playing? If they have been playing EQ for years and years, of course they might be a little bored. And if they are power gamers they have better chances of being bored in any game they play.
What other MMORPG have you played that has been successful for more years than EQ, and still going as strong as EQ?
If you like real time combat this game is WAY not it.
Go play Counter-Strike! LOL! Or Unreal Tournament! I like Real Time combat, and I still enjoy EQ. Same with thousands of players. One does not ONLY have to like 1 style of game. One can like the slower paced combat in EQ, and like real time combat and play games like CS, UT, etc... Who says one must ONLY play 1 type of game. BTW, if after giving EQ, or whatever other MMORPG a fair try, and you find you still dislike it. No problem. Pick another MMORPG to try. No game can please everyone.

In that case, why are you even posting on an EQ form? Your mind is already pre-set against EQ. You are not posting information based on evidence, proofs, facts, etc.... You are posting based soley on your pre-set bias towards EQ based on.... bias to EQ not based on facts, proofs, and evidence. But your strictly biased opinions no matter how true or untrue.
This game is the worst (Angry ranger player... still feeling like sony owes me for 4+yrs of eq - all a freaking waste).

It took you 4 years to find out you dislike playing as a Ranger? You do know there are many, many, other profession choices in EQ? It took me 2 months to find out I disliked being a Wizard. I moved on and tried other professions.
D2 = Ok Eq= Mild Now if they made a diablo 2 ever quest game they would kill both games with one game.
