I dont care what you think , the computer i use for vanguard is used just for that nothing else ,i dont serf the internet on it and i dont downlaod anything put the update's i need to play vanguard . Ya about 8 months ago after one of there patches i did have a problem with crashing to desktop but honestly i couldnt tell you if that was vanguard or the crappy drivers they had for the 8800GTX at the time
Ive got 5 desktops in my house and 2 laptops and the one i use for vanguard is off limits to everyone but me , It's never had a virus or even spyware on it because its just used for the mmo am playing at the moment and it runs vanguard flawless and has sence not exactly day 1 but about day 5 of release And am i bit pissed at losing face customizations over a few FPS that i dont even need myself but if it helps other people play i guess i can live with it considering i spend about .001% of my playing time looking at the front of my character .Anyways sonys lieing through teeth about that there isnt a noticable preformance increase from them doing that not on test anyways lots of my guildies said its about the same as live but guess will see when they patch it to the live servers
The problem with Vanguard has never been spyware or the failures of the users computer. That representation is part of what got this game such a bad reputation in the first place and continues to give people higher than reasonable expectations when trying it out now. It has always been with the VG engine itself. It doesn't matter if your computer is protected by a "trust based" security system like yours. Which by the way is the most ineffective protection method in the world.
You jumped on the original poster for making an unbelievable statement and then turn around and talk about how crystal clear VG runs for you since day one without any problems? That flies in the face of just about everything in the history of the game untold tens or hundreds of thousands of people. From the unstable launch to the overwhelming discussion of the worst performance coming for Nvidia 8800's by both players and devs alike. The card which you claim to use.
Maybe your story is somehow in the realm of bizzaro world true, but it sure is beyond hard to swallow and certainly makes an unbelievable followup comment after you claim someone else is lieing about their experiences in the game. I know given the choice between the two based on just the merits of the claims his comes out much easier to believe.
Like i said daffid i dont care what you think or heard or whatever ive been extremly lucky when it comes to vanguard I dont know why maybe because i have two friends that have been building and bench marking computers for 15 years and they come over and update all my drivers once in awhile , like how many average gamers have even updated there bios or any driver besides sound and graphic's
But honesly i think its because my gaming comuter only has vanguard on it and thats all its used for theres nothing else on it most people have 50 shortcuts on thier desktop there harddrive is 3/4 full of crap and pictures and screens and video's. You get the idea not many people can afford to have a top of the line computer that is used for only one game but i can and i think thats is a big reason why i never have any problems

Oh i never said he was lieing about vanguard but dont even try and tell me you play Crysis every setting maxed in DX10 with the rig he posted maybe at the med range settings but hey the game still looks awesome even at med settings
Listen mate i've had Vangurad since launch and i know how bad it runs for certain setups (seems to be worse on high end). I have also had Crysis since launch and Crysis runs better, in SP and MP. And i run it at 1920x1200 in DX10 every setting except AA is maxed and it runs smooth. And it's even better now with nVidia improving drivers and Crysis now being on patch 1.2.
SoE are the problem with Vanguard, they are doing what they always do. Instead of fixing the bugs in a game they decide that the game needs a major overheaul of mechanics and start fucking everything up. Even though the performance was shit at launch and it was full of bugs , i like the game and it's mechanics. It stood out somewhat from the other loot based games. But now SoE instead of fixing what was wrong they are turing the game into a total EQII clone to save them making an EQIII from scratch.
Its a single player game its totaly different than a mmo there's no comparing the two as far as performance goes , stupidest thing ive ever heard on a gaming forums
Ya i agree sony just seems brain dead when it comes to vanguard i just dont understand where they think there headed with it. All give them till after Gu4 and than i think my whole guild is pulling the pin on the game. I was thinking there trying to get us people that like vanguard to quit , thinking will all go to EQ2. But this is my first sony game and from what ive seen from them it will be my last sony game i play.
.... my monthly peek into the VG forums..... still see posts like this. When will they ever release a damn trial so everyone can just download it and see if it will work?! How long does that take? Just put an invisible wall around a starting area somewhere, and let people install it and see if it will work. All debate about whether or not it will work just go away.
It's been a year, and nothing, combine that fact with posts like this, and buying this game would take more faith than getting some kind of growth cream from a cheesy canadian web site.

i have played plenty of mmo"s and let me tell you vanguard is a gem compared to a lot. also get over the whole bad launch thing, you can only use that line for so long. this is a monster of a game and has a lot of flavor and their taking all that flavor so it can appeal to everyones tastes buds!
as for SoE, i think a lot of you put a little to much drama into them. if it wasn't for them their would be a lot less half decent games out their. their just something for people to push their problems on.
remember its just a game and theirs millions of gamers out their and millions comming. its here to stay, plus its the only game i know of that i can ride a horse into the horizon and get lost.!
Why the hell do people bother with vista, and especially the 64bit version? It just doesn't make any sense. A fool and their money are easily parted...
