You have to ask yourself how "Star Warsy" it is when you see 2 Jedi Masters running around half-naked in Theed shooting lightning bolts and swinging lightsabers at each other, and stormtroopers walking by not even blinking twice at the sight.

The plural of Jedi is.... Jedi
Sorry but that always bugs me

Love them or hate them, it isn't Star Wars without Jedi.
Actually, zero Jedi in the timeframe between EP4 and EP5 is Star Wars, dozens of them duelling in Mos Eisley is as far from Star Wars as you can get without adding phasers, holodecks and pointy ears.

Fixed it for you
Personaly I have mixed feelings about this.. Jedi should be alpha class but that won't work in MMORPG and if it's available at start 50% of the games population will play as one.
In SWG it just didn't work in pre-CU or after that. (IMHO)
Actually, very little game content actually fit into the episode 4-5 time line. There was more prequel content than anything.
I was in SWG beta, I played during launch, I quit and came back once before NGE and CU. And it was just as lore unfriendly back then too. Sorry but honestly I can't think of many instances in any of the movies where people were fighting with pole arms or swords. I don't remember any Doctors buffing people, or Tera Kasi artists either.
Bacj then, I remember my Carbinneer/Fencer/TKA. I remember how in PVP I would constantly ploit the game mechanics and just keep knocking people down and keeping em down. I remember how I'd buy cases of Brandy and Crepes to buff myself so i could compete in PVP. How was any of that better than what we have now?
I've just recently come back again, this time to play a Jedi. I had spent so much time trying to unlock my FS slot, and it never happend. Rolling my jedi was vindication in a way - it was a goal that eluded me for a long time, and it is somewhat gratifying to play one now.
I think that overall, things are way better than launch. In fact, if this current system was in place during the launch period, I think the game would have been in a lot better shape now.
Just my $0.02
I hated the buffs also but the skill system that allowed you to pick few skills here and some there was brilliant! I really liked that I could build my character how I wanted! Not the cookie-cutter crap they have now.
So you think everyone beinig able to be a jedi durring the calactic civil war were all jedis were whipped and executed durring order 66, and only few main one (obi-wan yoda) are left alive is less lore unfriendly???

Why do people cry so much about jedi? i didn't see 100's of bh's running around in the movies, i didn't see people running around in armor and weapons in front of stormtroopers. There is way more problems now and has always been besides jedi. Honestly, how many people do you think would have gotten the game if they didn't think they could become or play a jedi?
Without buffs you wouldn't have been able to spam your specials to keep people knocked down. The game took on a whole new dynamic without buffs.
You didn't get to see day-to-day life in any of the Star Wars movies, would have been one hell of a boring series if you did wouldn't it. It was left to your imagination for the most part, Jedi however, we know for a fact didn't duel by the dozen outside Theed Starport. Big difference.

lol come on, running around with full armor and weapons in front of stormtroopers? i didn't have to see it in the movies to guess it probably wasn't allowed. There are so many more lore problems, such as any other races except human being imp, especially wookies. Still doesn't answer the question of how many copies they would have sold if they didn't have jedi. I'm not trying to defend or oppose jedi, i'm just wondering why people pick on jedi? I mean seriously, jedi dueling others bothers people so much but a rebel commado dueling a imp bh in front of stormtroopers is no biggie? If you put it in the context that jedi are not suppose to be around in the time period, then that starts a bigger continuity issue.
Well it's the reasoning behind your argument that makes it so wrong to have Jedi in that timeframe. Ask some random guy on the street what he thinks first when you say "Star Wars!" I'd be willing to bet that a high percentage would immediately say "Jedi!", it's the central theme in all the movies. However, people will also know that Obi-wan and Yoda were the last remaining Jedi (by the movies) during the timeframe the game was set in. The solution is easy, want Jedi? Set it pre clone wars or post RotJ.

I dunno.
Seeing Luke cleaning up droids and doing some "chores" on Tat certainly was shown. Buying and bargaining for droids was certainly shown. Negotiating a smugglers price was shown. Hanging out in a cantina was shown.
These were elements in the movies that implied depth to a fantasy world. These are elements I'd expect to see in a SW mmo.

Jedi
Jedi + Jedi = Jedi
Jedi's = Jedi with something that belongs to that Jedi (e.i. The speeder is that Jedi's new ride.)
I Reject your Reality and Substitute it with My Own!
How can i say this without sounding rude? It's not a arguement, it's just the fact that people pick 1 thing "jedi" and dwell on that. Ok, let's say jedi is gone, no more jedi, what will be the next complaint? I'm simply wondering why that's is the #1 issue, is jedi in this time period when there is so many other lore issues as i have mentioned.
What does that video have to do with the title of this thread?
I know for certain I wasn't the only jedi running around long before the Corellian Corvette (I stopped watching at that point)!

Perhaps you can give a better example of how it was left to one's imagination rather then being shown?

Why would I need to give an example? We're all Star Wars fans here right? :PPut simply, if the movies contained every facet of everyday life of every possible race, gender and social class of every possible eventuality within the Star Wars universe uncle George would still be making EP4 now 31 years on.

No, still doesn't answer the question sorry. In the movies there was 2 jedi, obi and yoda, but luke was force sensitive, leia? who knows. My veiw point is, if i use my imagination, is maybe there were more little jedi babies, young adults maybe running around. After all, as you said, we didn't see the everyday life . perhaps other jedi went baby making. Again, people complain about jedi saying that's just not right, time period and all that, yet never complain about dathomir, a planet full of force sensitve witches, none of which were in the movies, only in books. They go to the expanded universe lore, if that is the case, then they can pretty much do whatever they want with the story cause as i said, the lore is so flawed.
I understand completely what you are saying, In this time period, jedi for the most part were extinct, i totally agree but what i'm saying is, they mix expanded universe lore with the movie lore and it just doesn't mix well in my opinion and i have bigger issues with the lore besides jedi.
Your no real starwars fan lol...
Lore was fine at game lanch, but become worse and worse whit 1000 of jedi in it running around everywere.
