It's my first post here @ MMORPG. I just felt that I should give my 5 cents.
Blizzard's methodology was always to change something if they felt it disbalanced the game, or even did not really belong to the game. Their primary goal was always to establish a great gameflow. That was the key to success in many blizz games. The druid's stormcrow ability was changed obviously for a reason, not because Blizzard thinks it's great to torture the druid fans. As mentioned earlier, it either needs to be tweaked, or changed totally. A vote is simply without any use.
But now seriously, if the stormcrow can only "hover" above ground, is it not better to drop the whole idea and take another creature, which can be biologically used 100%. Not the best way with words, but I hope you get my meaning. If the stormcrow will be only a "cool" ability, not a useful one (and you'd expect a bird to have flying as it's primary feature), then it's useless. You always have to balance between useful and cool. That way, it's efficient to use that ability, and you also have that "look-at-me-I'm-a-133t-druid-feel"

....the saying is 2 cents.....YOU'RE A ROBOT AREN'T YOU!
NVM THAT FOR NOW! I HAVE TO ARGUE WITH UR POINTS FIRST!
Ok, first off, welcome to the forums , secondly, the stormcrow isn't just for coolness factor. The leopard that they replaced it with goes just as fast as the crow does and has all the same traits, it's the exact same skill. But instead of it being an awesome stormcrow, it's another cat. Druid already HAS a cat. What it doesn't have at this moment is it's class defining form, the Stormcrow. It's not a matter of usefullness, it's just that theres no reason to take it out and replace it with something that the druids already have. I understand if it's just a filler form that they put in untill they worked out bugs or whatever with stormcrow. I'm just worried that this might be a permanent change.
And I still think ur a robot...but since ur new I'll let it slide...for now...

Maybe they'll add it in an patch update one of those or maybe even in an expansion. I think that they don't have it in for the reasons the posters above me placed. I do think they might add it later but not for a while who knows maybe they just don't like the idea of it.....
Neshill, explain to me the useful abilities that the druid gains in the travel form it currently has. As far as I know, it can run faster. I am not too sure there needs to be much more than that in a travel form. You don't plan on fighting in travel form, I am not even sure if you can. The bird hovers, that is good enough for a lot of people. I liked the idea of a bird just for something different from a mount and such. But if you really do gain any skill or talent except for running faster in travel form, maybe you are right and maybe the bird form is useless. Just because something is useless doesn't mean people won't like it. Look at Jay and Silent Bob movies. Useless, but that doesn't mean everyone doesn't love it.

Yea Jay and Silent Bob movies were useless. But it's the only time I ever liked Ben Affleck, and they were pretty freakin funny sometimes.
And Kevin Smith is a genious. Except for when he was involved in that daredevil movie.....not cool at all.

Tnx for the welcome. As for the 5-2 cents, I have a black keyboard, and I write numbers with my numpad. I also have the very bad habit of not re-reading stuff I write
As you could notice, my points were really generalised. I (for some still unknown reason) did not follow the WoW development really close, so the Stormcrow/Kitty change was not among the things I noticed. Now if you ask me, sure I'd totally like to fly around with a stormcrow. Hell, I'd like them to put an ultra useless "excrement" skill, to annoy other players . But right now, it's all balance.

Yeah, sure. But it's not blizzard. I mean, aside from the D2 chat gem of course, Blizzard mostly tries to, as stated, combine usefullness with fun. That way, you will not cool down. I mean just imagine: It will be, like, totally cool to fly around as a stormcrow. But if that does not really give you any logical advantage, eventually you'll just avoid doing it. You'll get bored of it. On the other hand, if they can find another creature, which physical features would make more sense in the world, they should use it. Personally, I'd much prefer a hamstery-type of creature. Imagine all the madness of the spells/abilities: "Nibble - fatal poison attack to the enemy's ear"; "Annoy - enter the clothes of your enemies to produce a tickling madness"; and at last but not at least, "Cuddle - enchant your enemy with all your cuddly hamsterness".
Sorry, got carried away
Anyway, thanks again for the community welcome and good luck with the drawing
