Looking for an old game

I'm not really looking for a new game but rather an old one. I used to play a 2d mmorpg that was a top down isometric view. It was set in a post-apocalyptic future and there were mutants and what not that you fought, everyone ran around in trench coats I think. This was back some time between 1999 and 2002, I have been trying to at least find the games name for a while now and have not been able to turn up anything which brings me here. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Sounds like an online version of Fallout or Syndicate. :D

    Are you really sure it was a mmo?
