I like the pessimists here. such a new breeze to the forums *cough* It's been like this since forever.

And some of you guys had the argument to play wow just because it's #1? Being the biggest mmo doesn't make it the best. Not even by a longshot.

Im waiting for Age of conan for one reason. The crafting and nothing more really. Getting tired of the kiddie crafting systems that takes nothign to make a +10 killingeverythinginmyview Sword of doom..

so yeah, Im not hyping about the game. I stopped hyping a long time ago since all the new mmo's have a tendancy to suicide after a while..

Anyhow, people is like asses, split with lots of crap.

    Cheers.

    By contrast,

WOW needs 256 RAM to play

EQ2, Vanguard, LOTRO require 500mb RAM

I won't be getting AoC day one, because I'm waiting for word from what BioWare are doing... I'm really holding out for them because they just might be able to make 'the one' mmorpg I could stick with for YEARS to come.  BUT, should they fail my interests, and should AoC get sailing... I guess I'll be in Hyboria!  Truly the best / deepest / most content filled MMORPG on the horizon.

I too am interested to see what Bioware is doing with their MMO. That said, it won't be out for another year and a half at minimum and if I can get some good play time out of AoC during that wait, good deal.

So that's why WOW was such a flop!

    Oh wait...

LOTRO? While not everyone is a turbine fan (I'm not) and not everyone is a LOTR fan (I am), I thought LOTRO was a fairly good game, relatively bug free, lots of new free content. And its been fairly successful.

Now if you're in the EU and having to deal with Codemasters, that could be a downside.

Yes I have to second that.  LOTRo demonstrated the very best of "professional touch".  It greets the eye, and have everything done nice and clean.  Unfortunately, it somehow lacks a bit of a soul.  Maybe its just too clean.  I feel a little lacking in attachment to the alts I made, unlike EQ or DAoC, where I feel deeply rooted in the environment.  When I log on my midgard healer/shaman on percival (camped out in our keep) I am always at the verge of a war.
