The Guild : Help put the RP back into MMORPG

Hi everyone!

I know that many of us, including myself, are unhappy with the current situation of the so called "Massively Multi-player Online Role-playing Game" market. The large majority of this genre just doesn't truly cater to or support role-players. I constantly hear people complaining about how poor the MMORPG market is, and nearly all of us are awaiting something new that will break the mold and end this trend of stale rehashed product.

So, I recently had a thought... A lot of people claim the role-players are a niche market and that's why developers don't spend any extra time than is absolutely required in order to cater to our particular group. A lot of power gamers and some casual gamers scoff at the idea of RP-dedicated servers with game staff actively enforcing RP as a requirement for said servers. I'm tired of waiting and whining.

In hopes of beginning a positive trend, I wish to form an community that will bring as many role-players together as possible. I call it The Guild, as I hope for it to cover a vast array of games and possibly more than the MMORPG genre alone.

The purpose of The Guild is to bring role-players together with the goal of showing developers that the role-playing community is immense and if harnessed can be a very viable source for business. We may begin small, but if we work together it is my hope that we can create real change in the gaming industry.

I am asking for your support so that we can make positive change toward better experiences for role-players and a stronger relationship between role-players and developers of graphical online games.

    What the heck, I'm in.  At least someone is doing something to further actual roleplay.
