Just started playing WoW and I have a few questions....

- how do you make money?

- best places to train?

- who is the #1 WoW player (if there is highscores)

- What places can I buy WoW at?

Please put any other suggestions for a starter like me.

I'd go here and read up.  This is a pretty decent newbie guide to WoW.

You'll loot enough copper, silver, and gold to keep up as you level.  However, it's never too early to start putting money away for that expensive mount training at level 40!

CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

Questing is the easy way.. or selling "raw" materials on the auction house, so if you pick skinning for example, then selling the skins on the auction house (there is always an alt who will pay silly prices jsut to power lvl their profession) will get you a steady income.
    - best places to train?
Not realy applicable, most EXP comes from quests.
    - who is the #1 WoW player (if there is highscores)
There is no highscore table, most servers are ranked by guild but its not offical.
    - What places can I buy WoW at?
    Any computer shop and online.

1.Please dont hang around the banks/AH's begging for money

2.Please dont /w high lvl players for boosts through instances

3.Start to lvl your fishing/cooking/1st Aid from the start, or you'll regret it later.

4.Remeber WoW is not as uptight as other games like EQ2, so do have fun the general chat but dont be abusive.

We'll I've started with wow 3 months after it was released in Europe so I can see myself as an old wow veteran. I still play it sometimes.

The best way to make money is to do quests, grind a bid, trading on the AH, using your skills and sell the stuff you make.... lots of ways...

You will find the places to level yourself, the zones are linked to each other and you will get from one zone to another as you raise your level (just go with the flow ^^)

There is no ranking with the best wowplayer... But i think it must be a chinese no-lifer-goldfarmer or somthing like that

I don't understand your last question... so you haven't bought wow yet and you are playing the trail now?

Well... just go to the 'account management' section on the official wowsite (www.worldofwarcraft.com when you play the US trail, www.wow-europe.com when you play the European trail) and then upgrade your account

It is also recomered for a new player to read the game manual on the official wow site (so you know what you are doing)

I hope this was a bid of a help for you ^^

If you have more questions about wow just ask

I couldn't help but read you just quit runescape in my sticky.  This game is nothing like runescape, and the questions you just asked are kind of weird, but I'll try to help you:

To make money, you will do quests first of all.  It's not like runescape's listed 100 quests, there are thousands upon thousands of quests in the game, so you won't really run out.  You also sell stuff to vendors from drops you get from monsters (called mobs).  You can also choose 2 professions to make you money.  There are also instances, but that's a little complicated and you should just read a separate guide on that.

The level cap is 70, and it is easy to get to, unlike runescape where seeing a level 126 is unheard of.  Training is just going to be you questing, instancing, grinding, etc.

There isn't a "best" player, but there are a few famous players, like Leeroy Jenkins.

You can buy WoW at any game store really, it's unlikely they don't carry it.

Oh, and do NOT mention you are from runescape in WoW.

On your first character money is sometimes a problem if you select the wrong tradeskills.  Things like Enchanting can really drain your wallet.  I'd go for the harvesting skills such as mining, or skinning, or herbalism.

This is not runescape, im guessing he just made the big switch....

6 months? Been playing 3 years... bored to death now but anyway...

Just go along and play it, you'll get the hang of it.

You can buy it in ANY game store, or just buy it online.

And if you just started playing ... why do you need to know where to buy it? Are you on trial?

That's not very nice.  Plus that's operating system dependent.  There's no 'Add and remove' option in Vista, it's called something else .  Yes I know I'm being a pedant, but I'm being equally as hilarious as those posting in the WoW forums to tell people not to bother. :P

It's called 'Programs and Features' in Vista Ultimate.

I can't imagine why it would be different in other versions.

By completing quests, looting mobs, putting items on the auction house, etc.  Many many ways.
    - best places to train?
Not sure what you mean by train.  If you mean level up, then simply follow the quests, they will lead you to the areas you should be in.
    - who is the #1 WoW player (if there is highscores)
You don't get a score, all you have is a level and it's maxed at lvl 70 currently.  It's kinda like bowling, you can't beat the high score, the best you can do is match it.
    - What places can I buy WoW at?
Anywhere where video games are sold, but I thought you said you just started?

Don't listen to the advice of others.  The game is very easy to play, you don't need advice, just time and effort.  You can give a minimal of either and get by as long as the other is in abundance.  If you give the game neither your time nor your effort you will receive very little in return from the game.  Give it both and you will be well rewarded.
