I'm sorry for the same old question but I've been trying to find a new game to start later this year. I'm a huge EQ and EQ2 fan and have been playing the latter for over a year. I'm a very casual gamer and rarely get in more than 10 hours a week. I prefer to solo but don't mind PvP at all, but would just like to able to choose to do PvP instead of having to do it to advance the game.
So given the extremely limited information provided above do you think I'll like this game?

I think you'll need to wait for OB and see what you think it has elements similar to EQ and EQ2 only as far as it is quest based and the entire game is story driven. Other than that it's a case of you'll need to wait and see if you like the unusual combat system
i think the game would be a good choice for you. The devs already said that they don't want to have endgame raids that use up your entire evening.
the game is heavily quest based, so you will always have something to do and they have tried to limit the timesinks (choice of normal transport/instant transport, tradeskills, no death penalty but instead a bonus for staying alive, etc...)
but as the one pefore me said, try to play the open beta when it is available and find out yourself

Aye, It's best to wait until OB or at least a trial offer to see if the game is your thing or not. That is unless you don't mind paying retail to try it out.
There are 3 types of people in the world.
1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"
I would too suggest you wait for the open beta to see if the game is for you or not - that's what I'll do anyway. I am very excited about tcos, because of the different look and feel and because some of the things that I found irritating, will be missing here (Like the no stats armor and the lack of raids for items)
I too hope this will be the game I've been looking for, since I'm a casual gamer too, and I don't want to stick with single player games forever just because I don't have the time for a mmorpg which would consume all my time
