How do you get selected to be a Beta Tester?

Do they only pick people with certain PC's or do they look at other criteria?
I'm just curious to know how beta testers are selected.

Getting into beta is highly dependent on how many horse shoes you have up your butt, or rabbits feet or whatever other lucky bauble or item you may use.
No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-
they probably have generalized spec catagories, like low end comps, mid range comps, and high range comps. i'm guessing your comp specs that u submit goes into one of these catagories. then when they need more testers, they propably decide which type they want more of in the beta and just randomly choose from there.
they deal with hundreds of thousands of applicants, and i assume they just pick by automated chance. after that there might be a person who actually reads 1 or 2 of the randomly choosen apps. u could probably type out anything in an app and still get in the beta:P
