Turn off the gratuitous gore?

Someone asked me and I don't know. Will there be a way to tone down the gore? Heads rolling is one thing, heads rolling spewing blood and grey matter is another.

The beta version I played in January at the Community Event (not under NDA) had an option to turn off the blood in the settings. There was a nice little checkbox there if you don't like it
why dont you want gore
Some people might not like all that much gore. I for one will leave it on but I understand that some might not want it and think it's a good idea that there will be a way to turn it off.
No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-
People should not be sickened by animated blood. Its just as violent as watching wile e coyote getting smashed with an anvil. But if your worried about it you can play a ranger where you won't have to do the fighting up close.
Just wondering, would there be an option to turn off / censor nudity?

i could see why someone would want to turn off the gore....watching some of the beta videos and production videos....sometimes the gore goes a little overboard and it's not due to squeamishness...it just looks tacky if there is an over abundance. And it could actually improve performance...since the blood is nothing more than a particle effect

Ah ok, guild wars isnt skill based... and ninja gaiden isnt an MMO... tetris is just OMG WOW amazing godly game so that doesnt count.

You guys are so quick to judge that they don't want to see blood, it's not the seeing though i can see some wanting it turned off just cause they dont want to see it. But, as another has stated it would improve performance if your rig is sub par or barely meets the requirements, partical effects take quite a bit of rendering and thus no blood = less graphic lag.
Heres something you guys should consider....
Maybe a female gamer likes AoC and wants to play it. As far as I know, MOST or MANY females wont enjoy blood gore and heads flying so they might want to turn it off. And they might also not want to see boobies.

Why would you say that? Just because someone doesn't want to look at a ton of gore and boobies they should go play maple story? Seems to me this game is going to be pretty shallow if the only reason people are playing it is because it's M rated. Maybe the poster wants to play it because of the quality PvP.

Theres people here that want to play a game because.. well... it LOOKS good and seems like the right enjoyable experience for them.
Then theres idiots like Vercin who want to get some in a game because they fail to get some IRL... Seriously, thats the impression people get by posts like that.

I responded they way I did because removing those two elements in themselves detracts from the immersion in the Conan world.It's grity ,overly sexualized, and full of head choppin delight. Thats the conan stories. Read the books without the blood and nudity and you got a sunday cartoon called Alley Oop.

we are talking about the CONAN licence here. there were boobies and people getting their skulls split/removed, that's why they secured the M rating to be true to Robert E. Howard's vision of decadence and severe brutality.
i can however, understand the concern of people that think that the game might lost subscribers because of that but the truth is, most of the people male or female know about Conan and how much he's into cracking skulls and women. . .definitely the women!
as for the lag thing it doesn't seem to be a big thing so hopefully it doesn't effect the game play that much.
Edit: my manager at gamestop definitely can't play AoC cause his wife won't let him look at boobies!

Ya I agree, theres many other reasons one could reach, if you are a father/mother and choose to play this game you wouldn't want that stuff on the screen when the kids are running by. Squeamish to blood but still want to enjoy the game. Don't dig virtual nudity or feel it has no place for. To be fair, if you're gay and wanted to play you wouldn't want to see it. If your wife has an issue with it. Graphical lag fixes, performance improvements. I think I covered all the reasons.
You know what's disturbing...that i bet 99% of the girls you're going to drool over in this game are going to be guys who made a female character just to drool over themselves

The point is vercin, that players can turn it off, you can leave it on all you want and you will get that effect. But giving the option to the player is what should be morally accepted. It's not hurting you that other's can't and choose not to see it, does it?
