If you like PvP and haven't tried Shadowbane,  two new servers will be coming online March 25th. There will be a fresh start for everyone, no old characters or items will be saved, so everyone will start from scratch.

Malog is a ARAC (any race any class) server and Saedron is a Loreplay server with certain restrictions in who you can have in your group/guild/nation.

Unless you are a very good solo player, I would advise new players to find a guild. IT makes learning and playing much easier and more fun (imo).

There are several guilds on both servers recruiting on each of the server forums and here on MMORPG also.

A third server came online yesterday to ease the server loads. Its called  Thurin (Dwarven God) and will use the ARAC (any race any class) ruleset.

PLethora of Bumps in this thread aside. Shadowbane was highly hailed for its PvP. It is a good alternative for those who want to fight while awaiting the release of WAR or AoC. HOwever, it still remains to be seen how many players will show up.

Good point Czzarre. I think most players are waiting for the "next" game to come out, including me . But Shadowbane does have a good character creation system, you can build cities(if there are any spots left that is) once you have  city you can craft, but most players do play for the PvP. The graphics and engine are dated to be sure but it is 5 years old, but you can play for free. As far as server populations are concerned, Malog and Thurin are both ARAC (any race any class) servers and have pretty high populations 800-1000 approx. and while the loreplay server (Saedron) has a lower population it really is a good size decent mine fights.

anybody know the best server to play this on last time i tried it there was like no one but the about 20 people i saw and mabey i didnt choose the right server and help would be great thanks.

Well aside from the info I have already posted the rest is up to you. If you only saw a few players on it was before the server reset. As for which server to play on, if you have no guild play on Malog. There is a guild called Dragonscale that takes in new players and helps them learn the ropes so to speak.

 

 

Read the info I posted earlier on the different  forums, especially the //chronicle.ubi.com forums. Look at the different classes(healer,rogue,mage,fighter) and look at all of the professions there are and then look at that professions forum to see some of the character creation templates. It will help you decide what to play and how NOT to "gimp" your character on creation. Good luck.
