It claims that it works in conjunction with Martial Arts Skills to reflect damage back on the attacker. It also seems to be a prereq for some of the martial arts attack icon thingies. So, it seems riposte is linked to a Martial Artist, yet I attack it doesn't seem to cause any damage reflection, and there's no icon for it under normal attacks. Finally, there seems to be a damage shield that requires riposte, but it says the shield only works with distance weapons (not MA, unless you're using a bow). So, what's the deal?
Also, any other MA set-up tips greatly appreciated.

This here site MMORPG.com is not a very big site. Not many AO fans and players browse it. You are better off asking your question at the forums at the official AO site:

I played an Adventurer as my main character. Once in a while I used Riposete. There is an Icon for it. But you can only use the icon if you have that move.
Ask on the official Martial Arts forums at the link I gave for more detailed info on how Riposete works.

Parry and Riposte are currently disabled due to some bugs.
But word is they'll be back with next patch. Basically, Parry gives you a chance of... parrying an attack and riposte gives you a chance of striking back on an attack, like an extra attack.
