I am glad its not like the usual AH where people could bid.  Trade Post in AoC is just buy it or leave it no waiting to get my money from the sell.  But is there taxes or a fee I have to give to put in my item to sell?

Having taxes would make since for the guild citys, so the money will actualy go towards something.

yeah and you know why age of conan doesnt have an auction house? because instant selling is easier to implement than auctions .. just like other "easier" stuff they implemented in this game...

I fear that they push this game for sales with lots of bugs and unfinished content...

I support buying and selling without waiting times, but it would be better if people had a choice to place items as auctions or instant sales...

this is a silly easy implementation of a sales system for age of conan and I got a bad feeling about how funcom sacrifices important elements in a mmo only for rushing a unfinished game into the market to get money as soon as possible...

lets wait and see what they give us on the final day... not long to go until may 25.

Well, that's one way to look at it. I can't really speak to the other "easier' things that they implemented but I for one applaud this system.

I don't like Auctoinhouses. I want to find my item, buy it and go. It also makes it so that the players have to know the market a bit before they place an item on sale.

And as a frame of reference, I play Lineage 2 and there aren't any aucion houses for players to sell their wares. It's done by individual shops.

I still remember how pissed I was every time I got outbid on something I really wanted. And after rebidding and some more rebidding the other person(s) won. So I'm glad they're implementing this system. I don't care if it's easier for them, I'm just happy it's easier for me. No more traveling back for 10 minutes to place a bid and then back to my training spot just to do the same thing 5 minutes later.

Personally Im all for the way Funcom is setting this up. You see it. You like it. If you can afford it you buy it.

LOL this post cant be serious...this is like saying the reason why weapons in AoC dont have glowy effects because they want to rush the game out !

you even think ...gasp...they WANTED their trading post to work this way? does it really need to work like all other MMO's? in that case bring back auto attack too

Your right I think they actualy wanted to do it this way so players can be more focused on the action and fighting instead of worried about economics so much.

It was actually designed this way to help counteract gold farmers and speculative market practices. People who buy up all of an item only to resell at a higher price--over time, those people inflate the market. This makes it a bit more difficult to do that.

Not everyone wants to stand in the street shouting to sell their items. Places to go and people to kill, right? To that end, Tradeposts are where players will do most of their buying and selling, similar to the auction houses in other games. Tradeposts are found in cities (both regular cities and player cities), and using them brings up an interface that combines your bank, mailbox, and a marketplace to buy and sell items. To sell something, you put it in your bank, set it to “for sale” with whatever price you want, and wait for the customers to come in. Importantly, the tradepost is not built around auctions. You list something for sale and someone buys it (or they don’t), without bidding or waiting for hours to get your item (or your money!).

Not many mmos out there actually have auction houses anyway.. most of them are just insta-sell markets in one central location and not really any kind of auction at all.  Entropia has an actual AH, the rest I can think about off the top of my head have insta-sell that are just named AH for tradition sake (or whatever).  The above description, from AoC's info site.. says its the same kind of system as say.. WoW or other popular titles.

I'm not really sure how you get from Point A to Point B in your logic path there.

How many MMO's have had an auction system?  *ponders*  I mean I haven't played them all but... how many?  You seem to think its common and the best system.

UO... buy a house.. get friended to a house.. buy a merchant and sell stuff on it.

EQ1.. leave your toon up in the market and players bought from it.

DAoC buy a house.. buy a porch.. buy a merchant.

FFXI and potbs both used a blind system.  (not an auction)

EQ2.. put stuff in your merchant bag/box(es)

SWG have a house.. place a merchant...

Other than WoW how many mainstream MMO's have an auction system?

and now this game will be rushed and crap.. because it actually follows the "clone" trend of the straight sale system.  *ponder*

What is this advantage to the auction system again?  If you want more money for your item.. just ask that much up front.  If you don't know what its worth.. then you take a risk.

I used to sell stuff on ebay and I hated having to wait for the 7 days to pass (I sold a LOT of UO accounts).

When they put in buy now.. that was yummy.
