Just wondering.. What aspect of eve keeps you playing?
For me i'd have to say the fact that you can scam people and not get banned. (i know 95% of you now flagged me for "zomg loser" status but hey, it's what's fun for me )
The second aspect that keeps me playing is the pvp. Pvp's risky but exciting for some odd reason (and hey, i have to put that scammed isk to work!)

I just discovered the depths of production for me.
I can't stop playing eve until i mastered that part, so i will stay until i mastered it and then i'll probably find a new part of eve that i haven't seen yet, so i will have to stay until i am an expert in that, too.
Could take a while.
On a sidenote, i just bought a jumpfreighter. And i haven't flown about 70% of all ships in eve after more than 1 1/2 years.
So i have a lot to do before i run out of things to do.
And i will only quit when i get bored.
But that could take a while.
New things. Trying something new, working towards a new goal.
I'm a sporadic player at best. I've tried my hand in many, many different things, and I must admit that it's not so much the 'doing of same-old' (though I really do enjoy PVP), but the ability to try different things that gets me to log in regularly. When I'm done with the goal, I usually go into 'torpor', only changing skills and logging on for sporadic PVP fun, until I find a new goal.
The Vagabond / Huginn / Rapier are the best things that ever happened to gaming!
Right now I'm on my way to a Mining / Tanking / Insane-Bonuses Mining Damnation, after that a Revelation.
Those two will take me about a year, after that I don't know! Just need to figure out a next goal, but for now I'm happy shooting things in the aforementioned Vagabond / Huginn / Rapier.
hookers.
could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?
when my friends ask i say i honestly dont know, but something is there, the comunity, depth, im not sure... but i love whatever it is.
I've totally been sucked into skill training
I get so annoyed when I haven;t been training a skill, even for a few minutes
The exotic dancers and spiced wine.
'The exotic dancers and spiced wine.'
lol
For me its a few reasons:
* Since I work long hours I don't get left behind due to offline learning.
* If I do get tired of it I don't feel like I need to play 10 hours a day to keep up with the group
* It feels like a grown up game that is taken very seriously and its nice to be in that environment.
* The EON magazine, massive patches and the whole community keep me in the loop and looking forward to the next episode.
That heart pounding sensation you get that split second just before you decloak and let your autocannons light up whatever ship is closest to you in a roaming gang!! That or just some dump ratting sucker too stupid to notice hostiles entering local
Haha I know what you mean, "oh ffs I missed 37 mins of training time because of that prat at the traffic lights making me late"
EVE keeps me hooked because of the epic struggles amongst the alliances there is always some fighting and wars going on with massive doses of skulduggery and drama and to be involved in this even if its only at the soldier following orders level is awesome.
Currently playing:
EVE online (Ruining low sec one hotdrop at a time)
Gravity Rush,
Dishonoured: The Knife of Dunwall.
(Waiting for) Metro: Last Light,
Company of Heroes II.
Real life rule set ,that's what keeps me playing, anything goes .Like some other people mention, the fact that you can scam, steal and all of whatnot also let's not forget the political territory disputes and all the wars that are wagged for better territory.
Also the best thing that keeps me playing is the fact that all the WoW kiddie's brain explode after 5mins of play, soo you wont see alot of immatureness, only OMGZ TIS SUX,I cnt LVL!!!1o ne.
When they add walking in stations I doubt il ever look at another MMO again.
People play the game? I thought they just logged on to train skills.
Off-line skill training:
- I´m not a teenager and I work a lot... a lot... and a lot. I play 3 or 4 times a week for 1 or 2 hours only. So I don´t get left behind.
- I go work for a week and when I log in back, I´m still strong.
- If a kid start playing today and play 24x7, he´ll never get stronger than me.
Politics & Market:
- Eve has a lot of politics a territorial domination. Corporations and Alliances can build stations, mine ore, build ships and the best of all Declare War.
- Market is cool. There is studies about that. And quartely reports.
Char Ladder:
- Here you can be whatever you want. Wanna be a fighter? go ahead! Wanna be a trader? do it! Wanna be a pirate? Feel free... Yo-Ho...
- Just train profession related skills and you´re ready for your new profession!!
- All on a single Char.
Background Storyline:
- Cronicles and background storyline. That´s a strong feature on EVE. If you like roleplay and imersive tales, feel home.
PVP:
- On Eve you accept PVP when you agree EULA.
- There were battles that count 300x300 ships on a single solar system... That was amazing.
- Join a CORP and enjoy group pvp. Cool!!!
- EVE is not a SHOOT_LOOT_LEVEL_UP game.
--------------------------------------
Well I think that´s enough.
I´ll play eve for a long time... since I start playing Eve I´ve never look at another game.
Regards

Honor, Truth, Justice and Loyalty.
Firstly, i have only been playing Eve for about 2 weeks. It is a ton to learn and that in itself is what will keep me logging in. It is a challenge with seemingless endless possibilites that NO other mmo's to date can compare with imho.
The player driven economy is really what i enjoy, nothing else like it.
I play EVE because I am a man!
Now go fix me a turkey pot pie, get me my slippers and don't forget my martini!!!
Currently playing: No MMOs. They all suck.
FREEDOM !!!!!
Thats what keeps me playing since 2003 off an on,.
You can do what ever you like,I think about 65-70% of the game is like the wild west,
Round up a gang and smash some heads,
Dive deep into the economy and become a Bill gates ingame.
Be a master at buy/sell
Be a Scumbag thief or a rotten to the core pk.
Raise A army of 100's or 1000's of players "If you have the real life skills to organize such a thing" and take over massive amounts of players,Kill or remove them.Conquer them.!
Be a solo PVE player and kick back an relax.
Explore ! yes you can, go Off solo into the deep and dagerous, looking for a pot of gold.
I guess what I meen is its a Sandbox type game,.do what ever you want,.
I like doing what ever I want.
