Lady's Night = Gender Discrimination?

NetzokoNetzoko Member Posts: 1,271

I've been wondering about this for awhile now. Lots of bars/clubs have a Lady's Night where they offer discounts or free drinks/entry fees for women.

Isn't this sexual discrimination? There are laws against price discrimination. A store cannot have different prices for blacks, whites, asians, etc. How are bars allowed to give discounts based on gender?

your complaining about a bar entising women to come?

Making it cheaper when you buy one a drink???

Your complaining about a bar encouraging women to come in and get drunk and increase their chances of making stupid choices??

Picking up women at bars isn't quite or will never be my cup of tea, but most guys dont complain about ladies nights.

I think the OP would rather have a mans night so he can drink with a bunch of swinging sausages for free. Vampir said it right.

Ladies night is the best night to go to a bar imo. WHY?  A higher concentration of women. The only reason i see to go to bar in the first place.

I'm not complaining, I'm simply wondering if there have been lawsuits about this type of thing.

This topic isn't about ladies in bars, but rather the legalities behind it.

Sorry. yes a quick search on google about this topic has revealed to me that several states have banned bars from having ladies night based on discrimination.

Any man who files a law suit against this has some deep seeded hatred towards women.

no. not hatred. taking advantage of a litigious society. people have nothing better to do.

The truth is, men will go where there is Vagina.  The more vagina the better.  The bars figure that if they attract a lot of women then a lot of men will show up and thus increase the sale of booze.  In general most bars have a higher concentration of men then women and I'd venture a guess to say that even on ladies night there will be a fairly high amount of men there as long as they knew ahead of time.

It's more of an attempt to get more ladies to go. If there is ladies night at the Club then they go free and the guys who pay get to see these girls, dance, yatta yatta. Thing I don't like is they thinking they get free things like drinks and stuff. Oh nah I don't do that. Dances yes, maybe a striptease (rare) maybe, but buying them a drink, nope. Maybe some water or a soda though?

I find that women respond to my dancing and stripteases better when they are drunk.

I can't imagine anyone being impressed with you buying them a glass of water or a soda. You might want to re-think that approach perhaps. I'm not sure mean and miserly are qualities a girl looks for in a man.

I don't drink man, so I thought I'd make jokes saying soda or water. I really don't buy drinks for girls. They just get up and come holla at me or vice versa.

I certainly hope that the age in your profile is not your real age because I can't help but feel that something somewhere went totally wrong.

That's probably because you didn't put on a condom.

Ever seen a man waiting tables at Hooter's? More importantly, would you want to?

There probably is a legal case to be made (if anyone were so inclined), but who would want to? Ladies want free covers and discounted drinks. Men want women to have free covers and discounted drinks. It's a win/win. Just tell the lady you're talking to that you are saving money for your grandmother's operation and ask her to get you a free/discounted drink.

While we're at it, lets get rid of Senior citizen discounts! And charge 2 year olds full admission price for movies!

Nah, but apparently women can suffer from beer goggles, too.

I fully support the notion that ladies night is sexism, and I wish to have it banned. The unpopular opinion here, I know.

How many bars have you been to that serve anything other than water and soda in your entire life?

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

It's so sad that people worry about stuff like this when you have people all over the world starving and dying in their own cesspool. They dont have a ladies night out or any nights out for that matter.

Its pretty selfish to feel as if and promote this subject as sexism.

You could use that argument with almost anything. I could turn that same argument around and turn it against you, and it also has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

But I'm not in this thread to debate. I gave my opinion and I'm comfortable enough to say I feel strongly about those things, despite it being the unpopular opinion. Rather than antagonize me and worry about people who feel like I feel about this issue, perhaps you should, you know, end world hunger?

    VS

Hopefully this shows you how small and insignificant this issue really is.

Ladies night out has never killed/oppressed/hurt anyone.

I Just dont understand how people can fight so hard for things that don't affect them and ignore things that are worth fighting for.
