I'll probably get shot multiple times for bringing this up, but playing the trial for EVE made me think on this. I was really sad to see Earth and Beyond go. Granted EVE is a fantastic game, I really like it, but there was something about EnB, well several things actually, that I really enjoyed. For one, you could get out of your ship. In EVE it seems that once your avatar reaches a certain age he/she is transfused into his/her ship and that's that. I think EnB could have done a lot more with that, such as have missions and adventures where you had to be outside of your ship, and were able to use weapons and armor of some sort. I also enjoyed the NPC characters a great deal. The story lines connected to them were rather amusing and some of the conversations certainly earned a chuckle from me. There were other aspects but this is already longer than I expected and I'd rather not spend the last minutes of my life before being mauled and shot by disapproving gamers commenting here. I am quite certain, however, that many people have games they liked that folded, and most people would scorn for liking them. So don't judge me too harshly. :P
May the Chaos forever bind you to it's glory.
