I like the Firefly idea, but the all out action of fighting for Earth's survival against the alien bug invasion would be a fun MMOG.
EDIT-- Gah,.. Now you went and changed the poll.
Well the popularity of BSG is through the roof and Star Wars is the bread to Star Treks butter, in sci-fi, but I think fighting for the human race would be a blast.
I'd pick BSG but there's only one Battlestar and I'd hate to be the laundry dude in a MMO. lol So, since I'm looking for something different, it's between Space Above and Beyond and Starship Troopers.
I'm sticking with 'Troopers' it's a good base for Massive battles in a MMOG. Did I mention the overwhelming odds against us, laser guns and orbital bombardment? ..Nukem Rico!
P.S.- In sci-fi/fantasy, I like the sci-fi better. So, really anything would be fun.
I think Alien(s) should stay an SP game, unless, there's the Alien vs. Predator twist with us lowbie humans stuck in the middle.
Chronicles of Riddick would be a great sandbox if Riddick was an NPC, like Conan is in AoC, and it would be a real MMORPG.
Dune could be done well with the 3 factions, as well, and yeah B5 would just rock as a MMO.
So, I'd stay with Startship Troopers from the list, and I follow on with the assumption that a new Star Wars and the first Star Trek MMO's will be released, eventually. But, a Riddick or B5 sandbox would be my ultimate choices.

I can't vote in your poll becasue you have several I would like to see.

Why should I restrict myself to just those two options? Toss a few more in there:
Babylon 5
Farscape
Battlestar Galactica
Rifts (okay it has both science and magic)
Gamma World
Tek World
Neuromancer
Aliens
Buck Rogers
Tron
Macross
Ok, so I show my age on a few of those, and not all are pure sci / fi, but all would make interesting world seetingg for an MMO. Some are already well defined, others less so, which leaves more room for creativity. The though is don't limit yourself to just two options.
I personally would love to play a Technomancer in a Babylon 5 MMO.
edit: LOL, you changed the poll while I was typing

Oh i remember when i used to play Gamma world i still have my box i bought , ok it was table top but it was fun playing with guns and mutants , but personally Fallout has a spot in that poll too that one title we might actually see made in a mmo in the futur it has a huge fan base too .

I agree to a point, but I'd love to see a scifi MMO based on some of the crazy ideas of Heinlein. He's my favorite author next to Rand, Asimov, and Tolkien. Some of his works like The Moon is a Harsh Mistress should be a general template as to how attitudes and major characters should be, because they're never wooden and they're often humorous at the right times.
But I also would like any scifi MMO to heavily focus on the *science* of the subject. No transporters, no warp drives, no 'magic' basically. It may seem boring, but just being in a big solar system would be just as fun as being in a starwars-like galaxy.
When i started playing rpg on computer there where 3 big titles. Diablo, Fallout and Baldurs Gate.
Diablo was addictive like hell. Baldurs Gate had the "real" fantasy mood. But Fallout was - even with the hated turnbased gmplay - the most satisfying game of The 3.
A mmorpg where u can play (Super)mutants, humans and zombies, andf learn to vield Gattling guns or Cattle Prod`s would own it all.
My honest guess would be that the soon to be revealed mmo from Blizzard will turn out to be Starcraft Online. The "cancelled" Star Craft Ghost will be the platform the game will be designed around.
Starship Troopers ONLY if it was based off of Ender's Game book. I chose "other" because I would rather see a Wing Commander MMO that lets you goto FPS flight sim type space combat and then 3rd person view when you are in character on planets and space stations or transport ships.

Rifts zomg, that would be awesome! But only if they truly stuck to the IP... Would love to see someone do gamma world. I think many of the concepts in it would do well in a mmorpg. In particular the use of batteries and various types of ammo. for example ,if u were wearing a battlesuit that used a nuclear battery, the battery would last like 24-72 hours of gametime making the armor rather useless once its charge ran out, until u found another one. The same with weapons, as i recall i use to have carry several different types, since some were more useful in certain situations and many had to be used sparingly, due to the difficulty of finding more of the type of ammo /battery u needed.
although i dont think this worked very well in the pen/paper version, i think it would fit perfectly in a mmorpg.

FireFly is my choice on your list...but I'd love to see a Robotech based MMORPG using the same style of art we see in the show...and it should be set during the Invid envasion! Cyclones FTW! Oh and it should be a FPS based combat game - true FPS! Not this psuedo FPS we see in games like TR and SWG/NGE.

Either a Firefly or a KOTOR Star Wars MMO. Sandbox and mothing for kids would be the best i think.
Farscape would make an AWESOME MMO i vote that.
Played: WoW, Guild wars, Eve, SWG, and more
EVE 2 i dont want anything based on a movie or series
Rifts

I say Firefly simply because it could be so opened ended.
MAGA
I'm looking forward to Stargate. Especially since they are talking about 'real' scientific classes vs fighting classes only.

I'd much rather see something not based on an established property. You know, a little originality? That concept seems to be dead these days.
Played: UO, EQ, WoW, DDO, SWG, AO, CoH, EvE, TR, AoC, GW, GA, Aion, Allods, lots more
Relatively Recently (Re)Played: HL2 (all), Halo (PC, all), Batman:AA; AC, ME, BS, DA, FO3, DS, Doom (all), LFD1&2, KOTOR, Portal 1&2, Blink, Elder Scrolls (all), lots more
Now Playing: None
