How does it work, do you need to sign up and account with creditcard? Is it like pay for 1 month get 15 days for free? Or is it like use your creditcard and we'll start charging you after 15 days. Or is it simply 15 days free, no hoks, nothing..
It's 15 days free, no bullshit or credit card numbers needed. It's a bitch of a download and install though. Definitely took me over an hour to get set up. Then to load up the game and have it run like puree'd shit on my new, self-built gaming rig was just the final kick in the nuts. People say if you screw around with the graphics options you can get it running decent, but I just felt too alienated by the whole look and feel of the UI and the whole setup process to bother with it anymore.
Also, if you're into having alot of options during character creation, don't expect much from this game. If it weren't for the huge lag (yes, lag even in the front end), creation would have taken about 60 seconds.
I've downloaded the trial a while ago, and am still playing, and likeing it actually, also, as far as lag, i don't have any maybe its server specific or somthing, but im on Frostfell and have had really no lag or bug problems at all, im lvl 12 or 13 now, and still haveing lotsa fun
If it wasnt for the free trial I dont think I would be playing Asherons Call 2 today. The thing that made me ask my self, Why Not? was that it doesnt require a Credit Card to start the free trial, unlike some other games free trials. It was a bit rough at first, but by the 15th day I was hooked. And all I had to do was go to the turbine online store purchase an AC2 CD-Key enter it and I continued playing. Download it give and give it a shot, no Credit Card needed, so theres nothing to lose.

Nope no credit card needed at all you just set up your account and sign in under 15 days free trial then you can play 15 days if you dont know if you like the game yet you just make another account for another 15 day free trial :P not sure if you may do this but friend of mine did it
i was just installing it and loading it up i got to like the news screen and then it asked me for my like hotmail login (passport w/e) and after that it asked for the cd key ..
it ask for the Product Key Verification so im guessing its the CD key
I thought about trying AC2 trial once before when it was at FilePlanet. Of course, things were all screwed up there and I couldn't download it. I am going to give it another try.
I tested AC2 a while ago when it was in beta and I thought it was OK, but at the time I was still really into DAoC and still thinking of Everquest. Is AC2 as good or better than these two great games?
I like to give all mmorpgs a chance, that's why I am a big fan of the free trial periods, especially the ones without any credit card requirements. I bought Final Fantasy XI Online to try it out and it was good, but I decided not to subscribe and so I wasted over $50. At least now I can get a decent look at Turbine's second shot at a mmorpg and see what I think . . .

You should use the (free trial) icon on your desktop and you will need to make a new account but no need to enter any cd key nor any credit card information
I'm wondering if you downloaded the wrong version of the game. There are 2 versions, one is the free trial, and one is the version that requires the cd-key. You can get both at Fileplanet. The one listed on the left hand column along with AC1, Eve Online, and Planetside is the wrong version. Go to Turbine's Website or click the ad here at MMORPG.com to get the free trial version.

I wanted to try out this game before I decided to buy it but ran into problems. Do you have to buy a cd key to try the 15 day trial? heh
