Guild Wars Release Order?

malfactomalfacto Member Posts: 4

What is the order of the Guild Wars expansions?   They have 4 games for sale here and I was looking to get the newest stand-alone to try first.  Any other suggestions if this isn't a good idea?

The newest campaign released is the Nightfall one, which is the one I would also recommend you to buy. Nightfall allows you to have heroes in your party, features the funniest missions as well as also being the most organized one, thus being beginner friendly. Additionally this allows you to participate to some extent in the higher forms of PvP, although the highest one (GvG) won't be an option if you don't have all campaigns.

Eye of the North is the newest released game, but it's not standalone. To be able to play EoTN you need to have another campaign (Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall), since it's more like an expansion.

I'd recommend getting Factions last, as it's more PvP-based. You should only really delve into PvP once you know how everything works.
