    This is a great idea... if you can't beat them join them? So boys, get ready to pay sales tax for bits of code on a server. And after that... property tax as well. The population on your server will really grow after that right?

    Let's see:

    0101110010101010101010101010101010101010  = $.15

    or

    0101011010010101001010101010101101100110 = $.35

    I can't say how they would implement this in other games, but has anyone here who is complaining about this actually tried Exteel? I have played that game quite extensively, and I can tell you that the addition of NCoins in no way detracts from the game. It does not lessen the efforts of those who choose not to use them, and it also does not now give those who choose to use them an unfair advantage.

    In Exteel, some items can only be purchased with NCoins, others can be purchased only with in game currency, and then some can be purchased with either. The items that can be purchased with NCoins are not better than those earned through in-game currency, and in a lot of cases are actually worse.

     In addition, just because you can purchase some items, it does not help you against more experienced players who have actually been playing the game. Why is that? Because they are leveling up their skills and abilities and as a result their attacks are more accurate and do more damage, they have more health, and are much harder to kill.

    All Ncoins d in Exteel is allow a casual gamer to customize his mech and at least feel that he can be somewhat effective against opponents that play the game extensively. I for one have no problem with how they are used in this game or the effects of them on the game.

    Having said that, I have played games that used horrible implementations of the micro transaction system. Without knowing how it is going to be implemented, no one can really form an honest opinion on whether it would be a good or a bad thing. Crap for all anyone knows they could just allow you to purchase items to customize the appearance of your character so that you looked different than others in the game. In this case it has absolutely no effect on the game itself. I can't say that I am happy about Ncoins being added to more games, but I am also not unhappy, as I do not know how they will be implemented.

    Sadly this is probably the wave of the future...a future I'm not interested in.

    Sucks to be you. You will find yourself in a larger growing minority with shrinking options for gameplay.

    If they implement this aspect properly and so that the bought items don't give you and unfair advantage over players whom have grinded to get their items, then there shouldn't be a problem. I believe they have created a solution to the problem of gold farming, by eliminating the need for gold farmers. Some people don't have the time or are too lazy to grind for the items they want, so they buy gold instead, but if they choose to cheat themselves out of the gaming experience, who cares, that's their loss.

    Any time you get a free to play game, they have to come up with a solution to cover the server running costs, or else there wouldn't be a point in creating the game in the first place. I'm not a big fan of gold buying nor item buying, but I would support a game if I enjoyed the playing style. If they allowed an option to buy temporary buffs instead of just items or skills then I would believe they would have more interest in NCCoins.

    And if they touch GW1 or 2.....that would rly rly rly rly be sad that I would have to stop playing one of my hands down fav. mmo's of all time

    That's your opinion. I really enjoyed Linegage, Lineage II, City of Heroes, City of Villains and Guild Wars. NCSoft has always made exciting games.

    This method of payment seem to have 1 huge flaw...what if the customer isn't willing to use his CC with you?

    I mean, I am willing personnally to use my CC with NCsoft, or with any serious company which seem trustworthy, but some companies I wouldn't want to give them my CC no matter what.  Some other companies LOST my trust and I am no longer willing to use a CC with them (eh Sony).

    Micro-payments without a CC...seem like the bonuses and interest someone might have for it are already negated as the customer would prolly need to pay for chunk cards in store or something.  If I need to pay for a chunk card, micro-payments would definitely be the worst possible system.

    Anyway, I am more rethoric than practical here, as I state, I am definitely willing to use my CC with NC (well, I just cancel my Visa, so I guess I would need to get either a Mastercard or an AMEX hehehe, but that is different and personal hehehe)...especially that Exteel isn't for me (eh sorry), so I won't waste NC efforts here, but spam them with:  Less NCcoins and more City of games!  :P

    This is going to be implemented exclusively on games  which design fits NCCoin, no crafting will be damaged, no monthly fees game will use it, and won't give you an edge in gameplay.
