I didn't get a code but thats not a big surprise since I'm sure alot more than 15k people signed up for it. I just hope this isn't the only chance people will get to try the game before release. At the very least they would hopefully be lifting the NDA after this weekend so we can actually some idea of what this game is like.
Remember Gamespot picked the winners, not Funcom. This means that no matter how loyal you've been to Funcom or how long you've been a member on their boards it doesn't matter at all in the selection process.
They released a statement on the main Gamespot boards stating:
4.) Emails are being sent out to new invitees, directing them to http://www.gamespot.com/test/ageofconan/download.php. This page will have both your beta key and download links. If this page displays such information, then you have been invited and the email is on its way. If this page is not displaying this information, is does not mean you have been rejected, nor does it mean you are on the list of remaining invites.
Which means that they are doing it in waves. As soon as they release a wave the registered players can go to that link to see if they got in. All we have so far is the first wave. I believe they said somewhere they were doing 3 waves at 5000 players each and they are spacing them out based on the load on their servers but maybe it wasn't a mod that said that I can't remember. I was tired last night.
there's gotta be another site to download this game isn't there? 48 hours remaining to download just the first part lol. weekend will be over before I'm done. oh well, atleast it's a moral victory getting in?
Anyone know what to do if the download stops working? I tried clicked the X to remove it but nothing happened

i finished my dl in 18 hours and i didn't sub to gamespot. when i went to sleep yesterday it showed 132 hours to complete the second file. so i think the downloader is just a little inaccurate.

The download is going slow as hell and the gamespot download manager sucks.
Yea it does suck, is anyone having a problem with the downloads stopping at 99%???
I remember briefly reading that a few people experienced this, there was a post on the gamespot forums under download manager if I remember for a fix.

Thanks, I finally figured it out after your tip.
Congrats on all who went in, I wasnt selected, alas.
But tbh, after the dissappointment with Vanguard, PotBS AND Tabula Rasa I am not buying any MMO without testing or trial. Period.

Only need to go look at the official gamespot beta pvp hype extravaganza forums to see what a shambles its turning out to be.
Are there any other download links other than gamespot? They cap the bandwidth unless you pay.

For alternative download links just browse the AoC beta forums on GameSpot.
YAY! I finally got my email! But now i have to wait in line for a long time to even begin downloading the 6gb...

I guess you can't play early if you finished downloading early?
