    Hi, I also started playing shadowbane the other day, I really enjoyed the training island and I thought the character choices were really cool, but I was very disappointed when at level 21 your put on the main land, which is were I came to the conclusion that this game is only about pvp, in fact it's just one big player deathmatch on a grand scale, it seams that the idea is to kill off spawned monsters to get money and exp so you can get better training and weapons etc.. to go back and kill all the players who camping the spawning grounds,( who are  just doing the same thing) all in aid of building themselves up to go and kill other players, or to team up with other players to...you guessed it, go and gank other players, where the rpg side of this game comes in I have no clue.
    far as I'm concerned, there are better pvp games out there that offer more than just an excuse to kill other players,
    well ok, you also get to join a guild,( so you can run around in a group killing other players) and build buildings and cities, so other players can come and try to destroy it and kill you or you could stockpile and recruit more players to go and destroy other players cities and buildings,( and kill them)
    so what I'm saying here is this game has no adventure to it, so unless your really into building up a character to just go around killing other players, then this game is for you.
    It's also not for you;
    if you like a side order of storyline with your PVP.
    if you like to solo. be ready to be ganked everytime.
    Only things I think shadowbane has going for it;
    It's FREE not even an ingame shop!
    Cool retro graphic's! - I really do like the graphics. althou landscapes tends to be a bit bleak and empty.
    Great character race choices, which is why it makes me sad that this is just only a PVP game.
    I do plan on playing shadowbane for a while still, but I think the DAoC will be a better game in the long run and not because it will be new, but because it will offer more than just PVP.
    hope this helps.

    As someone who plays shadowbane i can say it's a lot more than just making a character and putting everything you have into that character. Instead you get the ability to make toons that level quickly, getting money is easy and fast, gear isnt a big grind away to get. The real challenge is in the political combat your guild or nation gets to have with other player nations and guilds. Someone ticks you off? Bane em! Someone steals your kills or loot? Bane em! The amount of player versus player content is MAGNIFICENT. I've been to mine fights on Saedron server with 2 groups (20 players) versus 2 Groups vs 2 more groups of another nation. What resulted was a huge battle that not many survived :P. Making multiple toons is encouraged, and thinking by the template instead of dabbling in a bit of everything is recommended. Banes? Well...i have a bane tonight against a nation who is said to bring 5-7 groups with them. That's a lot of people to kill. If you love massive PvP instead of the same old levelling and grinding, this is the game for you. But it isnt like any other mmo out there. Well, maybe AoC will compete :P.

    DAoC has siege/keep taking/defending.  It has limited siege weapons and defensive weapons as well.  DAoC is fun at the PVP grounds where you go take a keep or defend it.  It starts after level 10 and cumulates in the endless RVR after level 40s.  Level 7, well you did not get to see that part of the game yet.
