Pirates of the Burning Sea

Is anyone looking foward to this game?  I think that it has some interesting aspects, but I'm still up in the air about it.  Now I know that some people will bash it before it comes out, or start complaing that there is no "blank" as soon as the game does come out, but does this game really stand a chance up against Fantasy-based games that are headed our way in the near future

     I'm very disappointed in the current crop of mmorpgs. I hope that PotBS offers something totally different than what's out there.

    I am looking forward to it simply because it is different. It could be a very immersive game if done right. But it may not be for those gamers who love non-stop action since the sea voyages may take some time. But with the wind at your back and the gulls flying overhead who would be in a hurry? The ship to ship battles will require skill (got to get that weather gage) and will take some time to unfold. Again it will have a completely different feel.

    Anyway, I will be playing it before WoW or EQII.

    My thoughts exactly. Ive been paying attention to the game since it was first announced, but im still worried it will turn out to be another Eve Online, with organized groups of pirates ganking folks left right and center. Devs will have to do a lot of things right for the game to be enjoyable.

    Oh most definately I will play this game, anything different from the norm in MMORPG's is always fun.

     

    I am hoping for something along the lines of the great KOEI game "Uncharted Waters 2" which came out for the SNES a long time ago.

     

    I tried "World of Pirates" but it was much too lean in the content/immersion part to keep me interested. Pirates could be the best alternative to the normal fantasy or sci-fi RPG, lets hope they pull it off.

    Pirate settings are always fun. I might even go so far as to say that RP in this game could be fun. When people say Aye it will actaully make sense for once and RPING as evil would fit in quite well. Hell i just hope this game turns out good , pirate caribean themes are always coolimage

    I have been following PotBS for almost two years now and can't wait for launch.  I love the whole world being PvP as well image

    I will be there for SURE!!  Quite unique, love the dev blogs and historical accuracy.....

     

    if its half as good as EVE--only with pirates ill be there for a long time.....

    It is definatly going after a certain gamer...historical/SIm type of player and I am def looking forward to it.
