Lead Gameplay and Gameworld Designer for a yet unnamed MMO Title. "When people tell me designing a game is easy, I try to get them to design a board game. Most people don't last 5 minutes, the rest rarely last more then a day. The final few realize it's neither fun nor easy."
Its shaping up to be a very interesting potential game, in theory. Course we all been through the wait for a new mmo only to have it turn out vapoury or just plain borked, so one has to be careful

Well, that is probably because our ads are served in a purely rotational manner. Our ad server has no idea what the content is on the page being served.

Simply terrible screenshot in composition, subject matter, lighting, and mood. Gives me no other information other than they are going with a very generic sci-fi art direction.
No comparison to EVE's visuals, or depth. Looks kida cartoony and simplistic like WOW.
I saw the game in person at GDC 08 and I can tell you it does not look "cartoony" and EVE has nothing on this game. It's pretty cool when you see it live. This is not that great of a screen shot IMO.
The turret is one mounted on the side of a Battlestation. We saw one of these battlestations (and most importantly got to blow it up) at the Codemasters Connect08 event in march.
Here is a snapshot of a side view of a turret under fire taken at the connect08 event,
Once it had received sufficient damage the shimmering shield effect around the turret ended and you started stripping its armour before it was destroyed. The way the turrets tracked onto targeted ships looked good too.
For a vid of a turret in action, do a youtube search for my name and scan through my Jumpgate Evolution vids or take a gander at them over at http://www.Jumpgate.co.uk to save the searching.
Um a picture of a computer screen doesn't really improve the concept of "this is not a good image". That's even worse than the original image posted above.
Wheeee! I square blob trying to be a turret among other square blobs with a metal map!! Where is the preorder button, I am getting this baby tomorrow!!
So from what people are saying...this game is NOT like EvE Online. I'd say that's freakin fantastic. I played EvE and it sux bawls. It was the most boring preety piece of garbage I ever payed for.
Can't wait for these fanbois to realize this is live action and not point and click.
I would like more motion video of the game. For those not in Europe that could not make connect 08 we'd at least like to see some footage on the site for in game movies etc.

I also tried the trail and did not like EVE Online's non-real-time combat. Vendetta Online got my attention, but the world was too empty.
