Oh yeah, a new one to add, watching a very slow download for AOC. (not that bad, should only take like 9-12 hours)

During WoW/EQ2 period I was studying as a BBA, but I kept sleeping my days away, while I was supposed to be on school, so eventually I kinda kicked myself out of there. But yeah, that school sucked anyways. Too bad I gave 3 years of my life to it.

So now I'm in new school, living with awesome, MMORPG-friendly girl (during Wow/EQ2 time I had no time for relationships) and I got a dog who makes sure I get enough exercise 3 times per day. :)

Well you Sir need more practice.

I find it no problem at all to eat chips and drink beer while playing video games. After a few hours of drinking beer my party sometimes doesnt like it but i am pretty much good.

I never played WoW drunk but i did play EQ drunk a couple times, it was alot of fun, and for some reason far more dangerous.

For you kids out there: Drinking is bad, i gave it up years ago. Dont go there.

(This public service announcement has been brought to you by a guy who has kids now)

asked my wife who he is  - said it was our kid Timmy, born a few years ago - he's three.

Moderation is the key folks, with anything... have a few pints at the end of the day at pub but don't be drinking for breakfast, second breakfast, elevensies, etc...  Have some ice cream but don't eat the whole bloody box in one sitting, and play your games just don't sacrifice health and wellness.

    1. went back to school
    2. got in shape by joining a hiking club
    3. started my own part-time business
    4. taught myself more complex design tools that i use in Second Life (no pressure in there to raid, be on at certain time, get this or that, just do what i want)

i do miss wow sometimes, but i'm glad i don't play anymore.

    icogames:

C'mon now, most people argue that WoW did nothing but burrow from other games. If that's the case, then WoW is no more addictive than any other. Besides the point is silly, if you're allowing a game to dictate your life chances are you've got other issues to deal with.

People need to get over themselves when they blame WoW, or any game for that matter, for their woes.

compulsion and addiction comes in many forms "Zen." if you would get your head out of your rear-end you could probably see that you likely get off by looking down on people and trolling forums to make snide remarks.  perhaps that is your compulsion. i'd also guess that you never really got into WoW or tried to level a toon there to a high level or you would be empathetic towards the topic that is being discussed here.  before you comment on other peoples "issues" take a good long look in the mirror.

a LOT of people do that.  people are weak-willed in general.

could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?

After I quit WoW my ife began to go downhill, my grades dropped, my girlfriend dumped me, and overall I became much more withdrawn from community. I think I would call this an addiction recovery but when I played WoW my grades were fine etc. I may actually come back even though at times I find the game annoying... Food for thought

    Sorry to have upset you.

Damian, I'd argue more so that people lack responsibility. They'll quickly toss blame on Blizzard rather than upon themselves; see all the accusations of forced raiding.

    1. Got a new job (I'm now doing something I enjoy)
    2. Diagnosed with diabetes
    3. exercise more and eat healthier (due to #2)
    4. Watch more tv (I've got into Bones, House and probably watched too much CSI: Miami.. Eva La Rue is a Hottie though)
    5. Play more online poker (play not win)
    6. Avoided buying AoC (thankful for small mercies)
    7. Considered other mmo's I could play
    8. Researched components and configs for a new PC

To the OP, is PiMP  worth it, I'm a PMI member but as I don't do much PM work anymore I never bothered with certification.

It sounds to me like you all lack self control.  Which is a failing of your parents.

You should sue them, it makes as much sense as blaming WoW for preventing you from doing something.

Lets just keep blaming in animate objects and other people, it CANT be OUR Fault can it?

Hold your self accountable for your own actions, its something adults do.

after i quit wow my life kind of started to suck, i had nothing to fill the 6 hours gap in my day, my best friend still plays and doesnt wanna hang out during his playtime that he's able to and we cant talk anymore, i keep thinking about other things to do besides wow thus not allowing me to truley focus on anything, i figured i'd go for my permit even though there's nothing interesting near me to drive to and i failed many times because i would just not focus i'd wonder how my hunter was doing all lonely in the log-on screen.. I basically just sit on my comp downloading games that i either dont play or delete 3 minutes after character creation... oh and i started shaving again...

    -----------------------------
IVE PLAYED WOW AND LIKED IT SO IM A FANBOI PLZ FLAME MY THREADS CUZ I MIGHT MENTION WOW

OP you could've managed those things while playing a mmo

I play mmos and I have the highest grade possible in ~65%+ (not able to check exactly) of my completed courses. I go to a secondary upper school, tech stuff. programming, databases, logic gates, networking (I got highest grade possible in the Cisco networking academy course :D) thought it would be cool to mention since Cisco is well known :P

I've started working out 4-5 days a week and am now taking 33credits this summer, all while quitting a horrible, horrible job. Its exhilarating!!
