The topic says most of what has to be said. A lot of people complain about what they don't like about this game and hardly anyone seems to see the good. I decided to make this thread in order to state and discuss some of our favorite aspects in this game and how they stack up to similiar things in other MMOs.

I guess my favorite part of this game would probably be that it is set in a familiar world that has never been portrayed in this way. Those of us who know any lore at all will know what is going on for the most part but it will still seem like a new world to even the most hardcore warcraft fans because they have never played it from the eyes of a character in the series.

I've shared mine, so what're you waiting for? Come on, don't be shy. Hahah, I am so bored right now.

My fav aspect of WoW is the quest system. From the way you find quests (question mark over npcs heads) to the way you pick your reward at the end of the quest, is all done so well that for me when I play WoW its not going to be "must get a bit more exp to reach the next level" but "must complete one more quest" type of drive. Not having to focus on leveling in an mmrpg is a welcome change.

My favorite aspects are probably the uniqueness of classes (no class shares any abilities), the vast amount of quests (now you don't have to camp the same spot over and over), the really cool death penalty (nice touch and flavor added) and the fact that it takes place in the World of Warcraft (tons of things to see and do, lots of content, lots of AvH action).

The best part about this game (for me) is the ability to enter and in part help shape the Warcraft universe. Generally, game stories are horrible and do not intrigue me; but with Warcraft, I find myself wanting to know more about the histories, the peoples, and the places. I look forward to exploring and experiencing every part of the world. Of course, I'll do some questing also -- but personally, I find the level grinding and "I'm more powerful than your guy" stuff a bit dull.

PvP will also be a major draw for me. There are numerous opportunities for story depth and world change if the right players participate in PvP (i.e. non-jerks).

I truely enjoy the quest system, I'm not one of those who likes to run around an hail every NPC in the town just to see who will give me what quest or what they will say.  In that regards I like the WoW quest system.  The choice of rewards is nice and refreshing, since that increases the number of satisfing quests per class that I can do.

However, having a exclamation marks over NPCs heads or the question marks, kinda destroys some of the immersiveness.

The advancement system (exp) is rapid at lower lvls and not really slow at higher lvls.  This is great for the casual player.  Means no matter how little time you have now to login and play, you will have enough time to see something accomplished.

However, it also means that many challenges may be way to easy.  Accomplishments may not be valued as much by the player if the cost is to low.

I truely enjoy the graphics and the humor.  Blizzard has again, snuck (or even boldly) placed so many tonque in cheek jokes everywhere within the world.. that you just can't help but tripping over something entertaining!

I have no however to that <lol>

two things before I say my favorite parts, The ! over the head originated from diablo two, and some parts of warcraft 3, and also, I have sort of seen what it was like in warcraft 3 from a mmo view, if you have a scroll thing on your mouse, roll it, it'll change the camera view, if not try page up/down

Now, the best aspect of the game are classes, all are original, you know, its awesome. The quests, skills, I'm not in beta, so I wouldn't know everything, but I'm reading up on it, when I'm done, I'll come back and explain once again, better, my favorite aspects

Isn't it true that leveling was made easier in beta so that the higher level content could be tested more quickly and the beta testing could be completed sooner? I have heard a lot of people talk about that. Also, I have another question. What is the lag/latency/fps like? In a lot of betas, people seem to complain heavily about those things. I know the reason I stopped playing the LII open beta and didn't buy the game was because of the horrendous lag when in town and worse lag when you tried to run around outside of the town.

My fav is gonna have to be the hundreds of dynamic quests they've come up with. It's amazing, I've never seen an MMO do that before with that level of creativity and a set backstory for each and every quest. I also love the fact that you gain exp as well as money/items as quest rewards.

Not really each and every quest will have a back story to it. I mean, they won't tell you to go out and kill a few Kobolds and you will miraculously stop the war between Alliance and Horde. It is still a good thing to like about this game that the higher level quests actually progress the game and help you become more indepth with your character.

In my opinion, this will be one of the greats when it comes to an MMO experience because of the wonderful backstory as Axel pointed out. Anyway, you have some nice lil positive things going on, why don't some more people post? I am curious to see what's got the masses hyped up about WoW.

One of the main things I like the most is how different classes arent just different flavors of ice cream, but are actually completely different desserts! (if you cant handle that metaphor, go beat yourself to death with an English book)

Mages are not just Warriors with stronger spells, weaker weapons and armor, they actually play different. Warriors dont sit down to regain mana/stamina, they just fight more to BUILD their mana(rage). Rogues arent warriors with backstab and shortswords, they are able to attack and fill combo bubbles. There is an actual class designed to be a hybrid character and do many tasks(druid) as well as two different pet-oriented classes that arent just watered down warriors and mages with pets. Shaman arent a mix of warrior and druid, they are actually....shamanistic! Totems and wolf form. Most of the other classes arent just mixes of 2 of the primes or different colors of the same class, they actually play differently and have different rolls in groups.

Also, death isnt very deadly while at the same time disallows lazy people to get away with suicide. Its easy to know how to complete quests for once, no need for walkthroughs anymore. Most of the things about this game I like, but classes are the biggest thing impressing me currently.

I'm going to have to say my favorite aspect will be the lore behind it. The dev team has come a rich history to work with in recreating battlefields, cities, and key points in the history of warcraft and I think people who know of that history will love to explore more about it. Just look at Star Wars Galaxies, beyond it's graphics, the driving factor of it is the history of star wars itself. That's just what I think will be my favorite...in addition to everything else about it image Just them coming out with the entire summarized history today on their website has gotten me even more excited about playing it.

Same here, I am really happy to see that I don't have to hunt around fansites for half of the unofficial story. No offense to you fansites out there, most of you are really great. But it's awesome that the dev team cares that much about people not even playing the game yet to release a summarized version of the back story about it.

Like I have said countless times before, I am really looking forward to this game and I just want it to be done quickly but effeciently. I would be willing to sacrifice speed of release for some more perfection and polishing. Just saying that so people won't call me impatient and such.

This game draws me in because of alot of aspects in the game.....

    Storyline/Lore
People have touched already about how detailed and compelling the warcraft universe story/lore is. And blizzard putting up that History of warcraft page was pure genious and blizzard continues to make games for their fans and not themselves which is why blizzard is so successful.

    Class Uniqueness
The classes in the game are so unique that no class has the same spell/skill as another class. Each class has its own soloability as well as group/pvp ability. Like someone pointed out before Warriors are totally different from paladin and all the other melee/fighter classes. And you dont have to lvl to like lvl 10-20 to start being "Different" then normal melee/fighter chars.

    Quests
I dont know how many times In MMOs I find my self getting really bored cuz there arent enough quests and I find myself usually sitting there with my thumb up my arse wondering what to do! SWG and L2 are examples of two games that had ZERO worthy quests and was mainly a grind fest. The quests in WoW however are PLENTYFUL and are actually fun doing cuz they all have a little story to them (some of which are funny). Most games I play I dont even read the quest text cuz the story sucks or is totally lame (L2). Half the time I just find out what I gotta kill/get and do it which isnt fun to me. WoW changes this. WoWs quests make me actually WANT to read the whole quest text before I accept the quest thats how good they are. Quest rewards are cool cuz you get to pick your reward so you arent stuck with some crappy mage staff when you are a warrior or vice versa. Plus all quest items are SOULBOUND so you wont see people selling them for inflated prices!

    Warcraft World
The game world itself is massive spanning across two continents with a vast ocean in between them. Each and every place is well detailed and each has its own majestic feeling about them. For example when youre in Stormwind and you hear the music playing and you see the school teacher walking her students around it really makes you feel like youre in a living world and not a static world where the NPCs just stand around.

    Blizzard Humor
I just love blizzard when they put a little hillarity into a game by adding funny tid bits to the game that no other company would dare do (IE EQ2... probabaly will be a stuffy boring game with no hiliarity). For example the racial dances are taken from pop culture which is really really cool and funny *does the tauren peanut butter jelly dance*.

Overall this game has many aspects that appeal to me these are just the tip of the iceberg!

This may sound strange, but one of my favorite parts of WOW is how easy going it is. I'm not saying that alot of other games arnt easy going, but the graphics, quests, storyline and the great landscape around you is just stunning. Like I said before, I could literally just sit down in the middle of town square at one of the major cities and just watch everything that going on around me. Then again, I would think to myself what the hell am I doing here when I could be exploring ::::02::.
