The guys from Videogamer had the opportunity to play Age of Conan during an event in London a few weeks ago.

The combat really is the key. Where mounts in "that other MMO" are primarily used to get you from A to B quicker than it takes to walk, Funcom has designed its mount system from the ground up to add a dimension to battles. Mounts are the perfect weapon for driving back attacks and breaking up groups. Every mount has its own set of specific abilities, which are all physics based, ensuring that careful positioning is just as important as knowing your way around a blade. Their powerful, sweeping strikes send enemies flying and knock opposing players off their feet. It's then up to your on-foot mates to mop up the now broken group. |

And just real quick...supposedly ranged mounted combat HAS been included, contrary to what some of us may have heard.
And thats another example of something that wasn't in the game design that has been put in if so.
So thats a +1 extra if it happens.

I've heard conflicting information on mounted combat. Can archers shoot mounted?
"The latest possible word from the mounted combat guy: Archers and spellcasters can both shoot/fire/cast spells when mounted. There are some limitations regarding what spells can be used (for spellcasters) and archers have a more limited targeting cone than they do on foot, but it is possible for both to “shoot” mounted."
Lets just consider the possibility they actually really enjoyed their time with the game, I know I did.

If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

i didnt go into too much detail because obviously i aswell as others don't exactly know whats clearly happening with the whole mount subject. what i do understand is that the mammoth is exclusive to pre-orders at release, who knows for how long afterwards it'd be available to the general public, hence the comment.
As far as I know the only difference is the Mammoth for example for pre-order will be a different colour,yep thats it,You cant inbalance the game by giving certain players such a huge advantage,I expect to see quite a few posts complaining about this come level 40.

TBH did you not add 2+2 together and see no-one was giving the horse mount for free?The siege mounts will either be available through quests or at some small cost,it is not just pre-order available.

ya, of course, but i've been hearing so much conflicting information on the mount subject, links to GM responses outlining differing comments... still though, riding around on a deadset better mount then others early on in the game is an important factor to me to warrant a preorder. i understand that they would never just permanently restrict these mounts to preorders - would cause so much uproar, and yet stupidity at the same time.
Well they could just say "you got a 3 day headstart and thats what you paid for"
At the end off the day you cant use your mount till lvl 40 and it is a siege mount so you wont be using it to travel etc,it is just an "extra" they are giving you a bit like a pet from another game,something to point out you did pre-order and were here from the start,so you get a different coloured mount.

Yeah. I think I won't fall for that one. There's really nothing good about preordering historically. You don't get the game any sooner and whatever extras you get turn out to be useless in the long run. Be smart and make sure you'll like the game first.

Dont get me wrong here m8,I am getting the CE but I just wanted to point out that the mounts on offer from pre-order would still be availalbe to new gamers also.
