a rockband type mmo

Sounds interesting doesn't it? Pick an instrument and go around challenging other people and getting more stuff. Then you can form a band and pvp i guess. I am not really being serious about this i was just wondering what people would think if this happens.

sounds nice... I also have an idea... a cheese mmo.. you pick a cheese... you get gear for it...and you pvp with it against other cheeses and stuff

World of Warcraft is a proof that MMORPG quality should affect schedule/budget and not the other way around.

    Ooh! Ooh! "Lawn Chair Wars"

Seed it! Feed it! And watch it grow! Almost as much fun as skill training in Eve

You know, I just dont think it would work. Im no industry expert, but I just dont think any idea can make it as a MMO. Rockstar/guitarr hero are good console games, but that kind of story on a massive scale ...I just dont see it attracting a lot of people

One of the famous conversations I had in /1 for Tabula Rasa was for a Bible MMO!

But not as in like an MMO set in biblical times, you walked around as literal bibles, with swords and slew each other.

Eventually they could have a PvP expansion ala City of Villians called "The Qur’an".

I have an idea similar to the OP's... Except of challenging eachother, we all get random band instruments and beat eachother with it!

*grabs guitar*  Get ready to run!

It could be a shooter type game, like typing of the damned, only you'd be playing your musical instrument instead of typing words.

(or, leave it like it is and call it a day)

    so...

I've racked my bain for the past five minutes trying to figure out how, potentially, you could make Rock Band into an MMO.  I'm usually pretty good about coming up with ways to turn any sort of game franchise (or alternatively, any sort of franchise in general) into an MMO.  But Rrock Band has left me completely dumbstruck.

The only potential way that this series could be turned into an MMO is if they go with an open world concept similar to, oh, let's say the PS3 Home network (and not so much like Second Life, because that place is just a mess).  Although, moving around with a drum controller would be a pain in the neck.

Honestly, I think that Rock Band would be best left in non-MMO form.

you could always learn to play a REAL instrument, form a REAL band, and go play some REAL gigs, imagine that, a real life hobby....

Now pardon me while I go play with my new virtual lawn mowing game.
