MMO with excellent PVE group/raid content?

avzay55avzay55 Member Posts: 2

I have been playing wow since it came out, always have been into high end raiding content. Currently the direction wow is going towards PVP arena concept is not my cup of tea, raiding is also getting a bit old. I am trying to find a new game to play at least will new wow expansion comes out. I am most interested in PVE group/instance runs. I dont particularly like soloing and i absolutely dislike PVP. Are there any games that offer raid content on par or better than wow?

    Raid as in Party Grinding?

If thats true, then Rappelz is your best free game and City of Heroes/Villains is your best P2P game.

btw, the cost of the gpotatoes you buy for (non-essential but useful) items will equal or possibly surpass City of Heroes' monthly fee.

If you're actually tired of fully "level vs level" PvP, then you should try Skill-Based or Semi-Skill-Based games like War Rock (fully pvp mmofps completely superior to CS:S in every way) or Air Rivals (Normal MMORPG with Flight Sim gameplay that has faction based pvp with regular wars and safe non-pvp channels... but beware of the high amount of /b/-tards, at least 90%, don't ask why).

City of Heroes/Villains is definitely the best grouping game out there, IMO.  At least 5-10 years ahead of any competitor, group-wise.

However, you also mentionned raid-content...and CoX has 2 raid-encounters...for raiding content, my advice would be about as interesting as a catholic priest talking about sex.

I'm in the same boat as the OP. After 4 years of hardcore WoW raiding and playing I'm pretty sure I'm over it. Looking for a game with awesome graphics, loads of content to explore, and a mature, fun community. Just tried D and D and was completely let down in every way.

Next I tried LOTR and found the graphics to be high quality, although the characters were maybe too realistic looking and needed a little buffing up in the name of fantasy and lovers thereof. Also, the classes were boring, with very limited magic users and strange names like "Lore master" and "Minstrel."  Community was above average but the endgame content was a continuous sore spot, evidenced by reading the endless forum posts of longtime players begging for something to do.

I'm going to try EQ 2 after reading loads of positive reviews, we'll see. I didn't think I'd be looking for a game at this time of the year but I guess I'm in good company waiting for AOC and WAR to come out.

You might want to take a look at Dungeon Runners; the game play is entirely based on instanced raids.  The game actually looks like WoW in terms of graphics too.  The game is free to an extent but you have to pay for premium items.  I've played the game a bit and it's pretty fun.

I heard Mythos has a similar concept but they are currently in closed beta,  you might want to check it out anyway.
