I agree with Tasos, the game is feature-complete and beta is very soon, a journal this week would be useless.

Ya because everybody knows it takes weeks to write up a 10 minute dev journal..
And you know/can prove this how? Blind faith doesn't cut it I'm afraid.
Though I do agree, we can skip the developer's journals and go straight to that beta you mentioned, that would be a much better next step.

You need to look at it a different way. Look at all the critics here and elsewhere on the interwebz. A dev journal is not just a 10min quickie a dev writes because they need be careful about what they say and how it could be interpreted. Especially in Darkfall's case with the aura surrounding them about not comming through on promises.
It is just plain silly to think that there is no game there and that there are a group of guys maintaining the forums and making developer journals just for the fun of it.
He took the time to make a thread explaining why there would be no journal this week, and gave a specific date for the next one. If this was all just bs and nothing was there, why not just say nothing and make a dev journal whenever?

Yea and I bet you never defend your game of choice,, riiight. Sorry I am not even a fanboy really, I am following Darkfall because nothing else comes close to feature list that I want in an MMO game. I love routing for the company that tries to re invite the wheel from time to time. Its refreshing.
Sorry but we all have different taste in MMOs and mine happens to coniside with the Feature list of Darkfall, so I choose to believe the Developers and for this I belong to a cult? Hmmm again fantastic logic.

Well it really sucks that game hasn't come out yet and I don't think its coming out for a while. They don't have a determined publisher in all areas which means the game is not closer then 6 months for release and probably more likely at least a year. Look at pirates of the burning sea, there game was virtually done but signing all the paper work and making all the agreements with the publisher pushed the game back about 6 months.

Of course I would defend a game if need be. You'd need only look at my post history to tell that. The difference between me and you though, It's quite simple. I will in fact listen to reason. EVERY post I've seen by you in last week or two, suggest the complete opposite for you. You aren't the only one either, there are quite a few Darkfall fans that can't or simply won't listen to reason.
You can keep throwing comments like "fantastic logic" all you want. That doesn't make you smarter then anyone else here. Just like a lot of other people roaming around here. You can't really refute anything said. So your best defense seems to be your one liner "<insert something> Logic", if you think acting smug and brandishing your supposed superiority to all us way-ward non-believers, really helps DF. Then more power to you.

Why would Greek Easter (Apr 27th) impede Tasos ability to write a journal for Apr 25th?
Would love to hear that one explained. It would make sense if he was talking about the May 2nd journal. Unless there is some time/space fracture Aventurine is working on and adding to the "feature" list in the coming months.

Of course they could write the journal thursday or wednesday, but lets be real here, Tasos and the devs hate writing the update.
May 2's journal will just be another philosophical journal with no facts, just vague ideas without new videos or anything. They will tell us the beta is soon, bash AoC.
So, just in case you want to know the REAL reason. Tasos was in AoC's pvp weekend, which set back his own work a bit.
LOL. But I'm sure Tasos will try it out though. I know a few former Funcom employees and they where encouraged to test out other games as well. Aventurine having some gamers among them may have the same policy as well. Imagine being paid to play games

So I guess none of the fanboys have any scripted excuses? Here again we have Tasos misleading the community by implying Greek Easter some how impeded his ability to write a dev journal. Tasos has time to post excuses on the forum, but his "impossible" work schedule pushes of the journal another week+. That also means beta will not be seen in May, so now that is almost 1/2 of 2008 gone. Still want to make excuses?

Again so you never go on Vacations during Holidays? You never leave 2 days before a Holiday for a vacation or time off to visit with family?
I dont understand how you cant understand the fact that Feature complete does not mean the game is finished, it means that the design and building phase is complete and now they need to work on bug fixing and skill tuning. They also need to walk every inch of the game world to make sure you cant get stuck any were cause remember the game world has no limits on player travel, if you can see it you can go to it, which means that they need to make sure the world has no holes an other stuff. This all takes time alot of time and alot of effort.
Sorry they cant take time out to hype their game like other Developers do, instead they are working to make the game great. Dam how selfish of Tasos.
Again please use logic before posting it will save us both alot of time.

Basicly why do they have to tell you anything at all? What makes you think they dont care about this project? Because they dont hype it? Remember Vanguard and all there Hype? What did that get them.

That is a rather foolish statement. Vanguard had a huge pre-game fanbase and had a bunch of people buy the game. The hype isn't even close to the reason that the game failed, it was due to the fact that the game sucked. If anything, the hype let them get a bit of cash before people realized it sucked :P
Point is, a hype can never hurt the game. If anything it helps, so they make money. It is important to let people know about your game, and Darkfall just makes it seem that it is not a big deal.

Why rush out a Journal when you can take your time after your vacation. What do you do for a living because you seem to have no idea how a real job works.
Before I leave on Vacation I make sure to put all my ducks in a row and get ready for when I return. I am a Systems Admin for a medium size company. When I return I catch up on anything that changed and then I start working from were I left off. I dont hurry up and rush something out because I am going to be on Vacation, I set everything I need up for when I get back.

The hype believe it or not got this game rushed out the door. Because of all the hype players bought an unfinish game. I was part of that fan based because I was hoping for another EQ1 game. The hype helped get the game released sooner then it should have.
Without Hype not as many players would have gotten ripped off by Vanguard.
