the internal temperature of my barbeque is 600+ degrees F

was grilling yesterday in my small but quaint brooklyn 'backyard'. I noticed the internal temperature of my barbeque was 600+ degrees. burning propane without any other accelerants.

my minds eye has come to a conclusion.
