Funcom is just keeping on hiding their "finished" game from the public as long as possible...and from a state-of-the-game point of view they do well doing so.

Doesnt matter how the fanbois try to turn it out, this pathetic scam declared as an "open beta", the NDA up to the very last second, lvl13 restriction all is there for a reason.

The reason is that alot of folks would definately NOT buy the game if Funcom would let them have a look behind the curtain before release. They know it, the beta testers among us know it. Its just the poor crowd out there who doesn't and falls for the hype.

if its not worth paying a couple dollars to play a beta why are u on this forum bitching about it? surely if its not important enough to pay a couple dollars for, why is everyone getting so up in arms about it?

I want to play it. to me its worth paying the subscription (i already sub to fileplanet for WoW patches but also for the betas)

U cant want it enough if u wont fork out a couple dollars to play.

    so stop whining about it.

No open beta I prob wont play it....which is ok with me. Paying for beta is worse than preordering for beta.

I just hope it doesnt become a trend.

eh, as far as the devs are concerned, the open beta is absolutely free.  Would you rather your bandwidth be completely blasted by people downloading the client, or go with a download site (that happens to be a pay for use site) that can handle the bandwidth?  No one is forcing anyone to pay anything, you either choose to use the download service or wait another 20 days like the majority of everyone else...
