I am trying to decide between buying a laptop for eq2 with an AMD based system or an Intel based system. Also I travel over 40 weeks out of the year so please don't recommend a desktop because that is not really an option for me.
The AMD systems seem to be generally as good or better than the Intel systems and are a bit less expensive. However, the best video card for a laptop I have seen on a AMD system is the Radeon 9700 (m11) with 128mb memory.
The Intel systems offer a Radeon 9700 (m11) with 256mb memory. However just to get into that type of system the base price is increased by about $400.
My main questions are:
1 - What are your experiences with either AMD or Intel?
2 - Is the extra memory on the graphics card worth an extra $400?

Awesome AMD laptops(and desktops) for really cheap- www.cyberpowersystem.com - also intel lappies and deskies if your into that kinda thing. Cheapest systems on the web, computer gaming world acredited website.
I do always say taste the rainbow but i always sift through my bag o' skittles to get to the white ones.
Intel sucks, anyone who gets a pentium processor is a complete idiot.. especially with the athlon 64 3400+ and better out.
And anyone who doesn't custom build their own rig is gonna be sold a shit load of microsized parts that burn out fast like the ones TIME and TINY used.. .tho if ur getting a lappy then i suppose its differant. I've never tryed to build one of them and I assume they are alot hard.... I should take my old one apart to have a look...
