Ok I have to bring this up after a recent post I saw. Why do people have such a big problem with paying a montly fee. I mean is $12.99 a month really enough to stop you from trying out the best MMORPGs out there. Don't you realize that you get what you pay for? Programmers and servers cost money! I'm really tired of seeing people get good recomendations for MMORPGs, then after they realize there is a monthy fee they decide it isn't worth it. Is that small fee really going to break the bank or is it some kind of strange pricipal?

I'm more than happy to pay for game, though I tend to look for games where it at least looks like my $$ is going towards impoving the game, rather than buying a new Porsche for some CEO type.
Anyone that complains about paying a measly 15 bucks a month for a game they can play 24/7 just needs to stfu, and go back to Gamespy. Just because they don't take foodstamps as payment is no reason to come here bemoaning the fact.

How can they be so sweet... sweet?
A brand new single player rpg runs on average, what these days? 40-50 dollars? And they last a month or 2 if you play them regularly.
A mmorpg will be cheaper entertainment in the long run. But if you buy the box and pay for just 1 month then you wasted money... which is why i like free trials
Whats it matter lol.....
just means there is less Thick headed people playing the game and that means you have more open minded people playing and that soemtimes makes the game more enjoyable...
aslong as you are willing to pay and play...whats it matter what other people do....its the best mmorpg out....well go ahead and pay and you will be the one that can say your playing the best mmorpg out todate.........alwell...the people who don't pay...alwell...there lose

Yes, but they constantly post here looking for free games. Never mind the 4,000,001 dimwits who made a thread asking the exact same thing before them, or the fact that there's a big sticky that lists most, if not all the free games out there, titled oddly enough, Free Games... It gets even worse when these freeloading jackass's start in bitching about said FREE games. It's unreal I tells you.

Some who play MMORPGs are under 18, so they can't get a credit card. And they're parents don't like the idea of using their credit card on the internet.

I'm willing to pay as long as it is a good game. but I don't like companies charghin me $15 a month for a PoS like Lineage 2.

I'm seeing more and more of those game cards being sold, so no credit card shouldn't be a problem much longer.
As for complaining about free games?
I think most are happy to pay but many have a problem with the constant rise in price and worse customer service that goes with it.
In a space of 3-4 years the price has risen from $10 to $15.While some of the older ones charge $13 all the new ones seems to be $15.
Now thats a 50 percent rise in a few years which is way above inflation rate. This to me is not a big deal at all but the fact that the support is getting worse everytime is what annoys me.
Charge more is fine but provide the service to go with it.
While $15 is not much i think most of us would complain if KFC,BK, macdonalds and other fast food raise their prices and then provide less people on the till and we end up waiting an hour for the food.
The price of a big mac is low and means nothing to most of us but if the price rises and we wait longer to get the food we will say its a slap in the face.
Exactly same thing happening in mmorpg.
