This isn't a stroke your epeen thread. It's meant for people who are unsure if their PC will run the game. Obviously if you have a quad core, 4 gigs of RAM, and a 8800 Ultra, you're going to be able to max out the game.. and you know it.
One PC is mine, the other is my wife's....so basically both of them will have to run the game in order for us to play this game. Now I understand that we won't be able to run the game at full blast or anything...but I hope our machines will at least make it playable.
Also, is it true that the game is gonna require 30g HD space? If so, that pretty much rules out my wifes PC.
I have bought all the components for my upgrade except the vid card. I had decided on the 8800gt 512 card but I am wondering if its worth it to buy the 9600gt 512 for a bit cheaper. I know they have less stream processors but beyond that I have no clue which is the better card for this game. If anyone has a helpful bit of info I would greatly appreciate your help and opinion. Thank you in advance.

Depends what series all of that stuff is. like are those athlon processors? same for the video cards and ram.
I'm curious how other players or testers think this PC will run AoC? *I can handle low/off settings, especially after seeing how good they look compared to other mmos*

what's the price difference you're looking at? It's actually a pretty big gap as far as the fill rate. A lot of times you won't tell a difference. you'll tell a difference with the speed of something going across the screen and if it looks blurry or not. siege's you might because there'll be so much stuff moving on the screen, you'll be able to notice between the 2. But if you've never seen the 8800 perform i don't think you'll really be dissapointed cause the 9600 will be your new standard.
In the interview on the main mmorpg page, that product director guy says it the client is 18gb?

Honestly, I realize my shitty laptop probably wont be able to run this game. It's been like 4-5 years since I bought it..but I figured I should ask.
Can't really afford an upgrade, but I figure it's worth asking before I buy it and I am disappointed. Not sure what sort of stuff you need but I have...
Dell Inspiron 9400 T2500 @ 2.00 Ghz
2.00 GB of RAM
And ATI Radeon X1400
It wasn't really built to be a gaming PC, but I only played Ultima Online and World of Warcraft till now, so it did fine.
Also, is there any ways to possibly upgrade the laptop to make it better? Or is upgrading Dell laptops pretty much impossible.
AMD 64 3500+ 2 gigs of RAM 7800 GS Overclocked(its an AGP card lol, but the best one or close to it and overclocked pretty well)
Ya, my comp is like 4 years old, but i upgraded to this 7800 gs a little while ago.Every mmo out there I play on high settings ATM, and play oblivion on high settings as well.I also disable everything non vital in background while playing.Think I could play at lower medium range?I think so, but just curious. After I get my tax refund from that Bush economy plan, I plan on buying a new comp anyways.Maybe make a down payment then monthly payments and buy a 2.4k dollar rig.Already got a 24" widescreen so I can spend all on just the comp.
Can't go higher on the graphicscard because i only have a 300W PSU.
Can't overclock my E6320 because there is no settings in my bios that allows to override the standard settings even if it's a good processor to safely overclock
Stupid HP stock machine
Next time when i buy a PC i need to find out if the bios allows manual overclocking,if the PSU is big enough for the future and if there is more than 1 PCIe slot for 2 cards..Falied on all 3.

Looks like you'll be fine, and be sure to keep it on the optimized settings which will very likely be LOW.
You can grab an 8800GT for less then $200 which would be your quickest, cheapest upgrade and probably an easy settings increase to Medium probably.. but again, you SHOULD be able to play okay.

Thanks for the quick response Zaxtor. I'll be sure to look into the 8800, I want to upgrade without having to purchase an entirely new computer haha, seems like a good idea to start with just the video card. I'm not super concerned with the game LOOKING amazing so much as running smoothly.
