anywhere from 400 to 600k sales, probably. I think they should do even more with their marketing, as this game has potential and at this point the bargain would be worth it, but I'm not sure if they will go so far as to television ads. That would probably grab the attention of a lot of people.

hehe they better hope to not sell 600k boxes on day 1... that plus buddy keys would stretch their infra-structure to the limit, or even totally break it :P

I think their infrastructure is sound. It's not forever ago like when they launched AO. Im currently getting 600kbs at prime time from their patch servers. Im sure it will be fine.
"The King and the Pawn return to the same box at the end of the game"
I'd be surprised if they sell 500k pre-orders. The bigger question is how many will keep playing once they find out this game isn't everything they ever wanted in a MMO. Some pretty high expectations on this and not much real information.
As long as they can maintain 2-300k subs thats probably enough to keep the game pofitable and keep development going.

Yeah, I hope that many people dont try to log in on day 1 either, the Product director was quoted as saying in that last interview here on MMORPG.com:
”we are of course ready for much bigger numbers, both on the servers and for distribution. We already have infrastructure in place for serving around 600.000 players on launch day.”
"Around 600k" does not sound like its too capable (by that I mean stable) of that (600k) or much more than that and I hope launch day does not suffer becuase of it.
From there, it will depend on how the game plays and how well the play experience holds up. There is potential for some serious upside over time with AoC, most people will make it through the first month would be my guess. I'm just not sure yet how it will hold up beyond that.

Well I'm talking about the total month... but god that would suck lol... it's a good thing for Funcom but a bad thing for everyone who wants to play... they say they're only preparing for around 650,000 people (overdoing it, learning alot from what happened at WoW's launch when they got a lot more than expected) but I suspect they will go at the very max 600,000 by the month (that a box is purchased)... that doesn't mean they'll stick to it. I can imagine about half of the people leaving simply because their computers cannot handle it.

If only SW:TOR could be this epic...
the answer is ofcourse, 42
It will sell well at first and IMO will be around 300k tops long term customers.
A lot.
I believe in the 45 million range to create this MMO.

It's pretty useless throwing blind numbers out. It will sell what it will sell and we will know soon enough.
