It doesn't make any difference to me one way or the other, but consider this:
If you believe the Bible, God made Adam and Eve naked. They lived naked until they sinned. The naked body isn't offensive to God.
As far as the violence goes, the Bible has some pretty violent and gory images in it, including decapatation, murder, torture, etc. I seriously doubt there's anything in this video game that could possibly top real life history.
Using religion to say AOC is offensive is just hypocritical in my opinion.

maybe the idea was more to not show nudity to very young children? (i still see no harm)
But i can see where an issue might be. Parents have OKed games like grand theft auto because they are to stupid to comprehend what is actually in the game when you tell them:
Partial nudity, drug reference, alcohol use...etc
saying nudity, pffft parents wont understand what that means, to nieve. So even though this thread is retarded. I do see a small backing behind the argument. But then again it falls on the parents shoulders, and nothing in the game should change IMO.

It's even worse when people use religion to argue against violence considering more people have been killed, tortured, burned, and mutilated in the name of religion than anything else in history.
What is with people freaking out of seeing naked body parts? Grow up it is just a game. If you do not like it do not play it. it is rated m that should tell you it is not a game for kids. there are plenty of other mmo's you can play out there.
whatever happen to the old days where romans watch naked men wrestle and they did not think that was gay? they were proud of their bodies and liked to show off. now we freak out of the littlest things like a girl showing her stomach. she is automatically classified as a slut then. grow up people it is not that big of a deal.
i'm sure the folks that don't want to see nudity are also the same folks that still think bush/cheney are doing a fine job in office.

Nudity and Conan have a long association, when the magazine that had a Conan story inside the cover for that magazine would be artwork of a scantily clad lady (usually chained) with a monster or pirate etc looming over her.
These editions sold many many more copies than norn Conan editions and this was in the 1930-1950's.
So If you don't want nudity or blood go and play hello kitty island adventures or you could go back to watching TV programmes and record how many bad words are said (yes some people actually do a Ned Flanders)
How desperate can you get... get a gf or go buy nude a magazine instead of trying to get stuff like this into a game.

Honestly though, people used to come up with some crazy shit back in the day of older games. But i've never seen people act so foolishly on a game that hasn't even released.

This reminds me of some shows on TV where it's ok to see people fight but breasts and language are censored... If the audience is mature, if the game has a specific lore, give it to the audience in its entirety.

I just think that anyone who is genuinley interested in Conan must be cognizant of the fact that the world of conan is violent and gritty.

While I am all for making the world a better place, the first decision takes place with yourself and your family.
Petitions are nice and all, but I do figure if enough people like the OP don't like the nudity, or perhaps the lack of being able to restrict it... not playing makes a larger statement than 1000 people who do play hoping for a change.
Just don't play the game. If your bible beating self doesn't like it you don't have to play it. Also it was ment for mature 17+ being that it is perfectly acceptable for the options they have taken to put what they want in the game. It is rare that a mature game comes out for the MMo genre and trys to compete. Ever since the cartoon garbage that WoW has lead itself down.
If they yielded to some idiotic petition then i'd say it is a worthless game as next they would remove decapitation, then remove fighting, then it is just a bunch of guys sitting around going wait what was this game again?
Edit: The people petitioning are probly people who wouldn't play the game to begin with even without nudity. This is one epic troll.
Blood, gore, dark overtures, passion, sexuality, nudity, and other graphic details are a part of the Conan lore and franchise. If you can't handle these things then the Conan lore and franchise is not for you. You have the choice to not experience it.
Please stop trying to change things that have existed for 20+ years. If you don't like the setting then by all means please do not play.
The problem with such an old IP (even the 2 films are now over 20 years old) is that many people will not have read the original material.
I got for Xmas last year a copy of "The complete chronicles of Conan: Centenary edition ", this is a fantastic book, it contains all of Howard's Conan stories and a very nice history of Conan from the early days on.
It was published in the UK and is still avaliable over here but I assume that it will have to be imported into the US, I assume this and other material has been Funcom's inspiration and is well worth a read.
I think it's sad that people are more concerned with a naked body than a human having their head chopped off.
Maybe that's whats wrong with this country too - the US that is.

yep definitely need an option to turn nudity off. so many immature people are gonna turn it into some form or another of grieving. i don't want someone trying to position themselves in front of my character so there boobs are in my toons face. i also don't want to stand by a vendor with 10 other kids who take there clothes off every time they come into town....cause somehow that's amusing
a mmorpg should be widly realistic. I dont like the comic grafic at wow. if you dont like blood and nudity, go into the room, lock it, and cry :P 'caus in life there are both too. x)

Why are people even mentioning children? This game has a rating of 'Mature' in the US & 18+ in the UK, so any parents that let their children play this game must take full responsibility.
Personally I find the idea of people being offended (or even aroused!) by cartoon nudity fairly ridiculous. I would have thought that for someone of high moral principle that the story elements of Corruption, Violence, Murder & even Necromancy would be far worse than the odd nipple or two.
I doubt that the original poster has any intention of playing this game anyway & just wanted another excuse to try to force his restrictive religious views on other people.

First off I dont think you want to play this game if you are a Christian (which I am and i dont plan on playing the game).
I have read ONE of the Age of Conan comics, thought it had some beautiful art, the story was bottom line pagan in nature, but that is what the story is about.... You can change the story...So do not start a petition just so you can feel better about not seeing nudity becuase that is what the world of Conan evolves around (well that and gore/war...ect).
Another reason I am not playing the game is I see way too many 13 year olds getting a hold of this game. Even though Age of Conan is not all about nudity and sex, immature people will take it out of control. Maybe I am wrong though, hopefully many people will find it enjoyable, but I am not going to be one of them.
