Hey, I logged into my old SWG station account the other day after seeing some posts here about a 'vet trial'. Today I recieved an e-mail from Station awarding me 33days of free game time. Patching up the game now and going to see how things are. Just a heads up to those who might want some free vet time to go log into their station accounts & they might send you it.

Their subscription numbers are the lowest they've ever been and they are trying everything to grab some subs. So now is a good time to get some free playing time, problem is that the game is so boring people won't want to resub...

33 plus 15 is 48 days for free since February.
So far the NJE isn't too terrible, but the stance/focus thing ticks me off something fierce, it basically allows you to either deal damage or absorb damage. No happy medium. Now I suppose this is to encourage group play, but it's difficult to group on pretty much deserted servers.
CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

I'll give it another go. Whenever I get a free vet trial, I'm happy to log in and reassess. This next week will be tough though as wife and I are on vacation. Also GTA4 just came out and wife and I are having a blast playing that.
We'll see though. It will be interesting to see what's goin' on in game these days and maybe visit some old haunts. I'll resub if I like it. I've been bored with mmo's in general lately though.

Yeah, after playing around on my old jedi for a while, it's now clear to me that this game has changed so much that i'd have to make a completely new character and start from the beginning again to know whats going on. Also, the game seems so empty now. Basically, its not worth my time to play this when there are so many better titles out there now. I'll just wait for the next new star wars mmo to be made. The NGE star wars is FUBAR.
Also got the same email and decided to check the game out again. Oh nice 5th gen sabers and all. Well you need to grind holocrons for those as you need to complete two other collections first
. And most other collections i noticed were all about grinding this or that.
The few people on my friendslist that were actually on said that they don't play a lot anymore as everything was about grinding

I'll log on every now and then to visit some old places I used to hang out, but I'll pass on the collection grinds.
You don't need to do the holocron collections to get the 5th gens, only to get the new robes. Each 5th gen style is obtained in a slightly way, from handing in an already crafted Jinsu to killing a few NPCs in one of the new instances.
Oh I'll look into that then, might be a fun thing to do in my 33 days

Free time is always welcomed. It's a nice start in getting the subs back up to par, but I don't know if the game is repairable at this point. I just wish they would pull out and use what they learned to make a better SW MMO.
I really liked this game when i tried it last year but left at the end of my free trial because the server was totally empty. Really annoyed I didn't play it during its height, I would play it now if more people were around.

No he's not. He's trotting out the tired old SOE argument that it's the players fault the game isn't fun because they won't shell out the $50 to transfer to one of the few populated servers.
No I play on one of the low population servers (Naritus) and I have fun.
More fun than you would have if your server had a decent population?
Unfortunaly their will never be a server merge because of the logistics behind it. Cant be done. Not bashing SOE but its true.
The only way it will happen is if they wipe ALL SERVERS and start over with far less servers. Would anyone agree to that? Didnt think so.
Well...I would but thats because I dont own a house or any other Player Structure that would have to be wiped. But all the Player Cities would freak if that happened.

On my server (Ahazi) they look to be. Of course Im talking Player-Built Cities. But their are alot of them on each Planet. Im assuming other more Populated Servers have even more Player Cities; hence the Merge problems.

Actually it can be done they are just choosing not to put resources on it to do it properly.
