I choose WOW graphic style, while EQ2 has more realism I prefer the WOW style, blue waters look better! Besides my eyes will thank me in the long term play.

It still catches me off guard when someone will pay a game just for the 'realism' of it and how great the graphics look. If the story is interesting enough to keep me captivated, I will play the game, no matter how the graphics look. If the main character is a stick figure, but the gameplay is fun and original, I will play that game until I get to the end of the story just to see how it ends.
I just recently started playing FFVII again because of this. When I first played the game, I could never beat it, but now I am quite far on my way only playing the game for about 4 hours, I am on disk two.
Anyway, getting back on track. I will only play a game if I know it is from a producer that usually puts out games that have nice story lines, even if they do slack off on the graphics. In the rare case that I find a game that has great shory line alongside great graphics, it is just like having a perk in a job. The graphics don't make the game but enhance it. I am not saying that EQ2 has a bad shory line, it is just that I personally have heard nothing about except that it is set X years in the future after EQ1. Other than that, there is nothing that I have heard.
So when people say it is the same game with better graphics, I am forced to beleive it because I haven't heard of anything except minor changes to the battle system (Combo wheel or what ever it is) that set this game apart from its original title. If you feel like trying to enlightenment me in my "error" of being a fan of WoW, and beyond that Blizzard, please do. You never know what might happen.

Hmm, this is probably the 1000000000 person to say, "Oh, the graphics are cartoony, I don't like that. Therefore, by ignorance, I think the game sucks."

Funny, I was watching one of those movies and my brother said the same thing. But quickly he added that EQ2 blows, too. I don't think he is a big fan of MMOs. And he dropped out of school so he is pretty ignorant either way.

Im a huge fan of realistic graphics in games and EQ2 has diffinatly struck my graphical sweet tooth but WoW's beautiful art and creatively crafted environments are a very nice break from reality and im hopeing to dive into an amazing RPG when its done.
I have held the opinion that in order to have a good game it must look as real as possible -- but after working on a few independant game projects and seeing some amazing people create beautiful non-realistic looking graphics for suprisingly fun games i leave my oppinion to the game play and not neccesarily how it looks -- however how a game looks is often given to how long i will play the game for -- but WoW is just to amazing to dislike
It depends on what you like- personally, from what I'm seeing, I sort of like EQ2's style, but since I'm not playing it, it's hard to say. You REALLY need to see a game in action before you can get a feel for it.

It depends on what you like- personally, from what I'm seeing, I sort of like EQ2's style, but since I'm not playing it, it's hard to say. You REALLY need to see a game in action before you can get a feel for it.
