Here's how it will play out on release day...

1)  Those who want to down AoC, and are using sub-standard PC's, will come back here and complain that the game is a Vanguard clone and faulty beyond playability.

2)  Those who want to down AoC, but are using high-end computers, will come back here and state how there are WAY to many bugs in the game and faulty beyond playability.

3)  Those totally in love with the game, using sub-par PC's, will come back and say how great the game runs, even on low end systems, and how enjoyable it is.

4)  Those totally in love with the game, using high-end computers, will come back and boast about its preformance, and how the miracle patch helped their system achieve 100fps, and talk about how enjoyable it is.

5)  Those who dont want to shell out the money, but have already formed an opinion of the game, will wait for others to post opinions/reviews and will jump on their band wagon to promote/destroy the game.

6) Finally, the rest will JUDGE THE GAME FOR WHAT IT IS, and NOT LISTEN TO THE CRAP/PRAISE being spewed b y those with an agenda.  Some will find it is lacking, others will have found a new home.

ok and how is that different then the release of any other MMO.   My God...People have opinions and aggendas....how did you ever come up with a brilliant observation. (Sarcasim fully intended)

    Good post.

But you forgot a group.   Those of us that will wait three, six, or twelve months to let things shake out before trying the game.   A lot of people avoid launches because of exactly what you posted above.  A lot of us don't pay for "potential" but for what you actually deliver.

Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware

"Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product."

Damn.  Jaded lately?  Relax.  Yes, its JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER RELEASE.  WoW had it, EQ2 Had it.  Vanguard had it.  they all had the crap and praise.  Some turned out great, others are close to, or already have, closed down.  So, to say that this game is going to be the next WoW, or the next Vanguard, is idiotic.  How about we wait and see which it will be.  My guess, it'll be the next AoC.

I only state the above because people get caught up in the words of those with an agenda.  Im not out to change the agenda-seekers mind, Im out to put a little reality into the mind of the average person.

    nicely said Az.

We're all looking for the same thing, a new MMO home, just been so dissapointing with the last few releases.

And as anyone knows, playing an MMO is only a small part of the fun. The real hook-and-sinker can be found trolling those text based forums complaining that so-and-so's class is more powerful than mine.

In fact why bother with all those fancy 3d graphics and just give people a forum... hmm a bit like Darkfall lol).

    7) Some will say they can't form a real opinion because of the NDA and lack of content to explore.

I cant even download it on Fileplanet (too slow and it does not continue from where it stops).   So thats as far as Im able to get with the game, saved me $50.00 at least.

But down the road (months from now) I may take another look.

You know, thats not a bad idea.   What if someone were to come up with an MMO played on internet forum boards.  You'd have certain classes (ie.  the troll Destroyer, the Fanboin Healer) and gained levels and abilities.   You could have a main website where people register and create the char, then that site checked forum sites to find the char and award exp points for 'fighting' on the forums.  ok, Im gonna shut-up now, as this is seriously a good idea and I had better register it before going any further :)

7a) some though might also say that that type of person is looking for a freebie.  wanting to level to 80 in the name of 'just wanting to see if I like the game.'  And then decide conveniently that the game isnt for them. :)
