HI all, I posted this in the wrong forum so im going to ask here to see if you guys can help me.
Im looking to buy a new premade system from either bestbuy or circuitcity for gaming. My current gaming system is:
4200+ AMD dual processor X2, 2.4 ghz, 2 gigs, ATI 1850 512 mb.
Im looking for:
1. A system that can play most games at max settings even aoc if possible.
2. A system that wont be old and outdated in a year.
3. One with a nice graphics card or something that can easily be upgraded.
4. Around 1,000 dollars or less.
5. Allready prebuilt cause honestly I dont have a clue how to build a comp.
Any help would be appreciated if you could give me links to good gaming comps from best buy or circuitcity would be awesome.
Thank you all for your help with this!

You are asking alot for the money you want to spend and tbh whatever you buy now will be outdated in a year,Maybe another option is your cpu isnt bad and could be overclocked why not upgrade your current system with a new card, extra RAM and oc it?it wont cost you anything like 1k and will run most games on highish setting's.
If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

thanks for your help, I actually went to upgrade more ram today but found out it would cost me around 250 bucks due to the fact that my ram is ddr, not ddr2. So I got into talking with the computer ppl there and thought maybe instead of putting another 500-700 dollars into a strong graphics card and 2 more gigs, maybe getting a new desktop for under 1k. I know its a pretty tall bill but wanted to get the most bang for my buck =-)

I don't wanna say it cause of this
"Your company offers no tech support. I have been unable to reach anyone directly via phone or email for over 2 days. Also your company had 2 items on backorder and never called me to let me know."
But you can make a prebuilt PC on cyberpowerpc.com for your price point and desired specs.
i recommend cyberpowerpc as well. i've dealt with them before and found them to be great.
You live in the United States, that means you have access to one of the best online computer websites... newegg.
An extra two gigs of RAM (assuming you have two open slots) will cost you about $65. - www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx
To be honest, since your using Windows XP (I assume), you probably don't even need the additional RAM.
And $500-$700 dollars on a video card? Are they insane? If you can't wait a month check out the 8800GTS (the one with 512mb RAM) for like $240 or the 8800GT for $200. If you can wait a month, the ATI 4000 series is coming out supposedly and should offer very good performance.
I am assuming you have a halfway decent power supply if not you can get a new one for $80 like the corsair 450vx.
And then try overclocking your processor, maybe look for a new CPU cooler, shouldn't be more than $40.
Still these upgrades come to out to around $400, even less if you don't need the power supply and all these upgrades are fairly simple to install.
